BeamNG.drive Alpha test Backup only download

    Let me first thank you for all your hard work on this game and trying to resolve the issue. I still suggest that it be something to look at by the release of the game.

    As soon as i looked in this thread, I decided to make an email to the support team. I once again tried the update.exe to refresh a log file to send in so that they would be able to find the problems easier.

    As soon as i did that it magically started working. I did nothing at all to it.

    Possibly the update.exe needs a direct connection to www.beamng.com to download.

    I Literally did nothing to it at all this time and it worked, after doing the same thing nearly 60 times in the last few days with it not working.

    Gremlins?

    this server is very slow it has been waiting for 15 minutes isnt there anything else?

    If your computer cannot open a .zip file, there is something seriously wrong with your computer.

    AAHHHHH

    When ever I run the setup, it gets done, but it tries to update and then it won't connect to the server. So basically I can't play it.

    Why is my download failing??? it takes a while because of my medium/low bandwidth, but when it finally finishes, i cant open the BeamNG.drive-setup.zip file. when double-clicked, it says "compressed(zipped) folder is invalid or corrupt." when i try to open with 7-zip, it just says i cant open to archive. please help!! i have downloaded the first link twice and the alternate download link once and says the same for all!!

    Disable any firewall and Anti-Virus and try again.

    That exactly happens when the download breaks up. Please try to download it from a steady connection that does not break up in the middle. The Archive should be 218.38 MB big, not less.

    Just a thought, shouldn't this thread be in 'support', took me a while to find the thread, wasn't expecting to find it in 'general discussion'

    Also, can you add a download for update.exe? A lot of users on IRC still need the old files.

    This is Ridiculous that it is taking this much effort to download and install. I bought the alpha, downloaded then unzipped it. then proceeded with the install until the message pops up that says : "Executable not found: BeamNG.drive.x86.exe" there is another thing that pops up but i forgot what it says. it had something to do with "Fatal Error, text... not found". i have tried re downloading and installing many times and i get the same result every time. Please help me.

    unless he's running on a really really old operating system that doesn't have a built in zip file opener thingy, in which case, there's no point for that person to try playing it anyway, as the chance of beamng running on something that old is 0 in somenumberhere

    I tried to use the 480mb updater exe and it asks for a serial, but it has no place to enter it and before i can do anything it throws an error saying the serial was invalid, even though i didnt enter anything.

    Dev blogs stated the game no longer functions on XP, fault of one of the libraries they use.

    Actually, it does still work on XP - estama's computer runs XP and he can run the game fine (albeit very very slowly ;))
