Hey guys, I am not sure if this should be in off topic or questions/support. I want to know if this is a good build, and also what am I missing besides a Case and Audio Drive. (I have the basic Moniter, keyboard etc) ASRock Z87-OC-FORMULA Intel Mainboard - LGA 1150 GIGABYTE GTX 780 TI PCIE 3.0 3GB 384BIT DDR5 KINGSTON DDR3 16GB (2X8GB) 1666MHZ CL10 HYPERX RAM (KHX16C10B1K2/16X) (BLUE) Windows 8 64-Bit (Realtek High Definition Audio) Intel i7 3rd (4th?) generation. Razer Blackwidow. Those are the specs, would it record gameplay nicely? Please tell me what I am missing. Oh, and some of you might know I have an Alienware x51. That is going to my little brother. That's fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee build, man, that is a killer build. BTW, put a i7-4770k in there for your CPU, i5/7-3*** series won't make sense there
well, if the i7, is like a, 4770K, then yes, it would easily max everything out, and record extremley well, and, because of the gtx 780, you could actually use nvidia shadowplay to record (has 0 fps loss, and the same quality as fraps or something like that i believe? idk, ive never used it, but that's what ive heard)
I paid $1700 for my alienware. I have limited this PC to $2500. My Alienware was pretty crap compared to this. It had soo many issues, and the specs were no where near this pc. I think it was more off a scam than anything. GTX 660 1 TB hdd 8 gb ram.
Yeah, it was... Alienware is a scam everytime (CAME AT ME! xD). I don't know prices from the top of my head, but I don't think you need $2500 for this PC either... Not sure, maybe almost $2000 though...
Alienware is crap. Massively overpriced, no attention paid to cooling, abysmal OEM driver support and the worst build quality I have ever seen. Spend a few grand on a computer, you dont expect there to be a full 2 inches of flex on the side panel
I can confirm that shadow play has barely no performance hit (maybe not 0 fps though, less than 5%, yes) and it has the same quality as fraps.
Intel Xeon 1245 V3 is cheaper and same strong as i7 4770K, would choose the Xeon. Its working on every mainboard
Xeons are not made for gaming dude... I know from experience that they do very well in benchmarks but come short in games...

I know, that is what I am doing. I have had numerous ammounts of issues that I have just decided to build my own PC. The Alienware is going to my little brother. I always got AlienFX issues, Steam games never worked properly, especially Civilisation 5. I also had Internet Explorer issues. I lost all hope in it, so I am building my own PC. It has more RAM, a better GPU, a better processor and more HDD. Alienware - My Custom Build GTX660 - GTX 780 ti 1 TB HDD - 4 TB HDD 8 GB RAM - 16 GB RAM Intel i7 3440k - Intel i7 4770k. It is better in everyway and is just a bit more expensive.
What kind of HDD is that 4tb drive? If it is a nas drive, it isn't meant for the same use as a standard hdd
