Could the devs release a short (2-3 minute) video on some of the highlights a day or two before an update?
Or would the spam fest be too bad.

It would sort of ruin the hype. I would prefer for them to release very small hints, or clues to what is going to be added.

Yes. Also they should optimise the game while they're at it.

Should've seen the Belaz when it was first released. Lagged everyone's game out like crazy.

Alternatively, they should make a racing-optimised version of BeamNG.Drive called BeamNG.Race. It could easily be an rFactor killer. (Well, rFactor 1 is pretty much dead from old age (it came out in 2005, if it were a person t would be starting High School next year), rFactor 2 is dead on arrival and all the recent sims such as pCARS and Assetto Corsa look quite unimpressive.)

I understand where you're coming from with this, but I honestly think that BeamNG.drive could just receive a few more race cars and tracks instead of BeamNG the company sprouting off a whole new game.

With 0/2 in support of unatbro, I feel like it must be said: he has a point. I am not sure if his suggestion is the best answer to the problem, but it might be the most realistic answer to getting BeamNG as a company a larger player base. If Drive could handle a lot more cars for most people, it could be a real competitor to some seriously big titles. With things like soft body physics, Drive will not be able to support a large amount of cars in the near future. Perhaps a simpler version of the game could compete with these big titles and provide revenue for the business.

I think the best thing to do is have some sort of simplified physics in Drive that would allow large packs of cars (not that this is possible at the moment, I am sure BeamMG has thought of this and would if they could). If unatbro's proposed game had an option for full physics, it would just be a repackaged Drive. That would be competing with the big publishers in one too many aspects ; )

Backwards compatibility is lets say you try to load an old save format with a new version of the game. The game will still be able to read it and convert it to the new format.

The wider market doesn't want to have to deal with racing with a keyboard or buying a G27, so unless it's geared towards PS4 players, I don't think it would go very far. I also don't think the staff have the heart for it.
