Because the team only consists of 2 programmers and 2 artists for a grand total of 4 people who alongside BeamNG have their daily lives to get on with too.

it takes time and effort and there is a ton of secret testing involved in making a new update I know I have done it with software its a lot of trial and error in it so you have to expect to have some big wait time between updates...

With this being an alpha an update isn't like what your going to find in a nearly finished game. An update in this game involves a lot of new content. Lots of brand new coding that leads to more and more issues. I can tell from the past couple months of watching what Gabe and the others post. That this is going to be a massive update. Possibly a whole new map loads or new features bug fixes and new things. Possibly slide nodes for MacPherson suspensions. Lots of new GUI features using chromium and much more. Be patient. I'm fairly sure this project is far from dead.

You can get frequent small updates, or one time big update.
The race update is going to have lot of fixes, new stuff and etc.

its just that sometimes with these games its still early alpha and you have to expect to wait for things....

I know.. this game is updated way too fast for me too. I like how you think!

Most people come in here complaining that the updates are coming too slowly. It's refreshing to hear that at least some want to slow down on the updates and promises, and let the devs get down to business.

How much longer do you propose updates should take?
I think at least a 2-3x slowdown should suffice.

Sit tight - maybe they can finally make it take a long time to release an update.

You paid for the gaming knowing its in development and in alpha. Deal with it.

Jesus Christ! some people are just so impatient! This game was released as an ALPHA and the developers want to make sure it will be free of bugs before the final release. They know what they're doing. Put yourself in their shoes. For me, personally, they can take all the time they want because by the time they release it it'll be all worth it! You should be thankful for the awesome work done by the modders! They really keep it going!

Personally, when I first got the game, I thought it could be passed of as a full release. Sure, there are quite a few bugs, but the game has 6 official cars that are very well made, as well as a lot of community vehicles to keep you entertained with new content. Yes, I wish that the devs could pump out new content frequently, but they don't need to be pushed, or else the content will suck and become a bug hydra. So just be happy with what we have for now, and it will get better later!

Hey, first of all, i want to say: I do NOT want to push the Developers or anyone else. I'd just like to say what I think. I know, criticism sometimes seems not to be handled very well in this forum, but I hope you all will be able to understand my criticism and believe me, that I do not want to force the devs or something like that.

That line : "Race" update coming eventually! Featuring the Bolide 390 GTR, race lap timing, roll cage for the Covet, improved performance, and much more! is now there for.. more than a Month? And last update is more than 3 Months ago. Okay, I know. Working on such a thing with only a hand full of people is very time demanding. There is nothing to say against that. But what I do not really like, is posting something like " Update is coming.. " and time goes by, without any Update getting released. The Dev's should be able to have a realistic sense when they might release something or when not. So please, don't announce things too early.
Maybe, some people here know Live for Speed. I really liked that game, but there was a time, when updates took longer and longer, and at some time, LFS died. It was a pity.
I don't want to say, BeamNG is dying! I just think, the people who supported the Devs with their money ( and that is where Economy starts, where people are happy, others need support and some others might not be happy with some decisions and thus criticism is starting ), shouldn't be some kind of put off with posting "Update in some time, Update soon"

BeamNG Drive is a great game, or better.. a great simulation. And I am not disappointed or angry. There just that one point, I don't like. There will be as many different Oppinions as there are Users in this Forum, I know :) . And that is good. I just want to point out: This post is no offense! Just constructive criticism, which might be usefull for the Devs.

I hope you all had a good Christmas time and I wish you all a Happy New Year 2014!

Before that it was:"Race" update coming soon! Featuring the Bolide 390 GTR, race lap timing, roll cage for the Covet, improved performance, and much more!

I know the devs working as fast as they can, but it´s sadly they dont can make what they say. They just a team of 4 people, so i dont worry.
Anyway Gabester said the race update comes in January, thats in near future, so i´ll be thery happy than the update comes out.

We had almost no time for BeamNG the past few months because of IRL responsibilities (job, school, etc.). Now that we are on holiday we are working our asses off putting in 8-12 hour days. Do you want a bunch of weekly updates that break everything, or do you want us to make sure it all works before we push the update? We are rebuilding all the debug screens right now (since we switched our canvas drawing system). Tdev is putting in 12 hour days to get it all rebuilt and working nicely. Estama has been working tirelessly on the physics core to make the physics faster and more accurate and improve the parking brake and differentials. I've been working constantly on the Pigeon and T75, modeling more parts, texturing them, tuning and testing and refining the node/beam structure, and Sam has been working his ass off on a gorgeous new map (East Coast USA). Believe it or not, things take time to complete, especially when you are only a team of 4 people with limited spare time.

That is awesome that you guys are putting that much effort into this game, and I applaud you for doing so! I can remember when Terraria 1.2 was in this stage; they were promising a LOT of stuff in that update, and they also said it should be released in July... It was released on October 1st. I can still say that it was damn worth it, waiting for that long, because that update practically TRIPLED the game, content-wise.

So from what I am hearing with this update on BeamNG, it is quite the same thing, promising a bunch of new stuff, and a release date has been pushed back a bit, and I may assume it will get pushed back even further, but it will be damn worth it in the end. Keep working Beam Team!

    What an amazing question.
The lack of brain cells with some people online sometimes hurts my own.
