Ok so its not just the polycount. Its placement and the use of EdgeSplit instead of AutoSmooth that was causing the spiking in most cases. I was reading through how to import/export official vehicles using blender (Click here to see that post,) and I found that Auto-smooth gives the same result without splitting anything. That was really, really good to find That may save a few of my models from having to be completely scrapped For users of alex_333's mod group, a stepside bed without the edge split nonsense will be uploaded as a major update to the Apache mod. Keep an eye out for it tomorrow. Also I have been tweaking some node placement here and there and I have gotten some of the spiking in the roof to stop. Below is the result of crashing into the car crushing wedge at about 30-40 MPH; I had to remove the rear doors from the model for now because they were not JBeamed and were spiking extremely. The model is still spiking where I have not cleaned it up or the components still have split edges, but this is coming along, I just didn't feel like trying to port them all over at this point in time.
Massey ferguson first time ingame. It looks so small near harvester. It probably won´t reach next update of farming pack, but john deere will for sure. It´s around 90% finished.
