No, you're doing it correctly. Unfortunately, I don't feel like suggesting brands, as I like to keep mine to myself, but I'm sure some community members will have good suggestions. A good way to make fictional brands is to Google translate words into the companies language.
Actually, that was a brand in a video game I never finished making. Personally, I prefer to use in game brands as much as possible to stay as close to Canon as possible, but I make fictional brands for vehicle types that the beam brands probably don't make.

There are AFAIK many blueprinted fake brands already. Point is that jbeams are too hard to make so quickly as to fill them all. As it is the game already has a few issues with not enough cars for the already existing brands and not enough customization parts.
