V6 or 22R? I've always liked the little Toyota trucks, you can make one look awesome just from the proportions alone with a 4 or 6 inch lift and 35's or 37's I've got to ask though, what's the frame rot shape? That's been the death of every Yoter I've ever had, the frame totally rusting apart the truck splitting in half. Also, what happened to those Boggers in the back? Were they grooved and siped, or is it just rock rash?
3.0 3vze v6, 8 inch lift and on the pics it had 38x16's, now it's on 31's because i'm trying to make it street legal again. The frame is in perfect condition, the floor has a minor crack that's all, found no other rust on the truck so far. anyways i have 4 days off so i might be starting to convert the hopper parts to the d series and roamer soon, but for now i just need some sleep. been working for 3 weeks without any day off. and i am still waiting for @hog0005 to send me the latest version of the offroad pack. i wish i had more spare time to finish all my projects
I thought 50s were street legal. With your engine if its a gas or diesel you need a turbocharger for heavy off roadin in the future you might want a exo cage and a light bar, with your truck i would get a baja style light bar {I say gas or diesel cause you can switch the engine}
yeah but the 38's kept breaking the stock axles anyways, and they kinda screwed up the driveshaft.. as for the engine swap, i'm going with a chevy 5.3 or 5.7 once i blow up the toyota 3.0, but then i will also need stronger axles because those engines have around 3 times more torque than the old 3.0.. i hope to get it back on 38's someday, but hopefully breaking less parts next time haha
It's different in each state as to what is legal or not about tires. Here in Mississippi, I can Seriously drive a Mega truck around in major cities. And other than the height of the truck, Cops can't say anything. But Damage a bridge or something and you'll get screwed hard lol
here in iceland there is no tire size limit at all this thing is street legal 900/65R32 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155316543414089
in NB, Canada the tire size isn't limited, but i heard the height is. i'm not even sure, i didnt check anything yet. But 31's just make it more reliable overall, as i said before the 38's kept breaking axles when i dumped the clutch too hard, and this is what they did to the driveshaft: so i'll replace a few parts with stronger ones then i might go back to 38's (or more) when everything is fixed. anyways, this isn't a truck building forum, and this isnt a toyota thread either. sorry for all the useless posts about my own truck that are totally unrelated to the hopper.
and thus begins the cycle of bigger parts but not enough power then more power but not big/strong enough parts
Wow this is coming along nicely, I have a quick question, (sense im away from my PC) does the 4 link arms need the high lift frame or can you put them on the stock frame, also with that set up is there a option to delete the ugly track bar mounts on the frame. If so the 4 link would be perfect for my prerunner tune with custom coded duel rate springs and tunable bumpstops
Has anyone ported the Hopper's coil suspension to the D15 or Roamer? Could be another major addition to the pack or an entirely new pack.
Hey guys, sorry for the delay. I haven't progressed as far as I would have liked to by now but things have improved. The UV mapping on the fenders still needs to be fixed and I need to get the up fits made but I think that this update is a pretty big improvement in suspension performance and hub stability. I also want to work on an alternate rear coil over setup that mounts to the chassis rails instead of intruding into the cabin like the current ones. The diesel is back and has been scaled, weight and power now match the size. I dont have the hood exhaust atm but it has got stacks from the semi
The fenders are broken. Cut fenders are Invisible for me with the new release. -- Appears that the other set works after swapping a few times but cut are still broken.
No problem sir. You should take a look at modeling some 54 inch Boggers. There a few pages back a couple of people (including me) were talking about wanting a set. I don't have the skills to do so or I would offer to do it.
I really like the idea of some 54's, I would like to work my way through the wheels and tires to unify everything and add some extra sizes to cover the middle ground so I'll look into it then. I'll probably make them a generic version as I'm considering rebranding a few things in the near future to make it available on the repo at V1. Would a big set of military tires do for now? I'm considering making 17 and 20 inch versions of them. I can do them pretty quickly. Also what are peoples thoughts on the semi wheels being made available on the hopper? I have a 5th wheel hitch and flat bed options in the works so they might look ok under all the towing gear. --- Post updated --- I like the look of this thing, I think I'll make a set of headers like that for the v8 and maybe include a diesel v8 in the future with the option to add a turbo or 2.
