not updating or installing correctly [SOLVED]

hi everyone.

i've spent the last 2 hours attempting to install and play my newly purchased copy of BeamNG
how ever i have run into so many issues i'm quickly loosing my cool with this.

when i first install the game it runs through the complete installation process fairly faultlessly. however then the updater launches and the gets to proxy settings and then stops claiming that it is unable to open the writing: update.exe file

the same thing happens if i just use the launcher, it tries to update and then flops

if i try to use the shortcut this then pops up

if have run this as administrator, i have tried deactivating my proxy, but it was already off. i've spent a few hours looking for answers on this forum but for some reason, it will just not work.

any help will be much appreciated, i hate having to do this, but i'm out of ideas entirely.
i will make sure that if this issue is resolved i will put the method down.

ahhh found it. comodo antivirus had been blocking the updater.exe from opening, but turning comodo off didn't seem to work. if this issue is effecting you run comodo in clean pc mode and that should solve it.

Thank you. This is a problem I have had as well!

 

glad that has helped others, maybe a change to the way the installer operates might stop this after future updates.

i have since run the installer with comodo operating as normal and it doesn't seem to effect any part of the update process, maybe its just an initial problem with the updater/installer. but if anyone is having problems try putting it back to clean pc mode again to update. and make sure that you have administration rights set to allow changes to the game files.

 

I have AVG antivirus and the same thing that was described in the post, can someone plz help me

 

i have norton not comodo so what should i do

 

throw your computer in a fire to destroy all traces of norton.
