BeamNG Drive Is such a small company, it could go down... Scared for the community now (though if mods are incorporated into the game, it could sorta be saved)
actually that could be good, non-BeamNG mod sites would be illegal, and actual action could be taken to combat them.
But, if mods are banned, then how would that even be relavant? Members would flock to those sites in droves.
well, official website modding would not be illegal, just posting them on unauthorized sites would be illegal.
BeamNG is its own company, and makes its own rules. Since it is a mod-driven community, and there are members of the team that are willing to help people make mods for the game, I highly doubt that modding of BeamNG.drive will be illegal.
We're talking in the theoratical situation of BeamNG being bought by a large corporation like EA or Take 2.
TL;DR Rockstar releases new update, people can't be bothered to pay for it, T2 gets mad, bans singleplayer modding.
Always was against their TOS, they just threatended to take legal action on the OpenIV devs, a case that T2 almost definitely lose but they have the money to waste on such things that small devs do not, so can just bully anyone they want. This won't stop modding at all though, people will just re upload OpenIV and so many people have it at this point anyway that its a totally pointless pursuit from T2. Remember, they also took this exact same "legal action" against FiveM, a multiplayer mod for GTA 5. Its now back and running again as if it never happened.
