Unsolved how to make an item appear in CTRL W menu.

    title explains it, I want to know how to make a part (e.g. spoiler/wing) go into the parts selcter preferably the foldable trunk thing for the pickup.

    Oh, its not that sort of thing i'm porting a vanilla part onto another vehicle.

    The 'slot' that spoiler uses must match a slot that exists on the pickup.

    So your saying I should make it another tailgate for the pickup.

    Make another tailgate that is identical to original but has a slot for a spoiler. Or you can make the spoiler use the additional modification slot.

    I expect that the part will still simply fall off after it spawns.

    Placing a Moonhawk part on the pickup will certainly require jbeam work. Doing it well may also require mesh work in Blender.

    1. If this part is not in /common/ you'll need to copy the jbeam from the Moonhawk's folder to the Pickup's folder.
    2. If you've copied the jbeam of a part, the first thing you must always do is rename that part, right at the top of the jbeam, to something unique. I usually recommend using your username as part of the name, so you'd rename something like "moonhawk_spoiler" to "nicelittle_pickup_spoiler" for example.
    3. After that you can start by fixing your slots of course as @Ytrewq said.
    4. Learn how to use https://wiki.beamng.com/NodeOffset to correct initial/spawn alignment issues. (on the Y-axis, Z-axis)
    5. Edit the "beams" section of the copied jbeam to connect the spoiler to Pickup nodes rather than Moonhawk nodes. To learn the names of the nodes you can use the in-game debug tools or you can read the jbeams directly in a text editor such as Notepad++. To use the debug tools turn on "Enable Advanced Functions" under Options-> User Interface. Then with the Pickup loaded you can press CTRL+B, CTRL+N, CTRL+M to cycle through visualization modes for beams, node labels, and nodes respectively.
    6. Now you'll have a slightly ill-fitting part since this spoiler is curved to fit the Moonhawk's trunk. Next up is learning how to use Blender or 3ds MAX so that you can whip up a modified mesh. When you make changes to the mesh, which you'll get from a DAE in the Moonhawk folder, be sure to: (a) give the mesh a unique name before exporting it by itself to a new uniquely named .DAE file. (b) update your part's jbeam to use the new mesh for it's flexbody instead of the original one.
