The Integrated Graphics in your I5 is probably 2x faster than that old GT440 video card.

If it does I doubt it would be noticeable. If you really want to do it then go for it.

It probably had 8gb of shared memory. It won't take away memory from the system unless the Igpu is running.

Overclocking my monitor (VS228H-P 21.5"), so far I'm at 72Hz. My goal is 80, but its only a $100 monitor..
    Screenshot18.png
Update - Tried 80Hz and 75Hz, neither work so it's staying at 72Hz.

I have a PowerMac G4 (MDD, dual 867MHz) and honestly it's a large paperweight. A very large, very slow, very VERY noisy paper weight. Runs 10.4 since OS 9 is a hot mess of an OS and it can do basically nothing well. It's too new to be vintage and too old to be useful for modern computing.

If you really need native Classic Mac OS support then it's your best bet, but otherwise I think you're drunk.

It's possible to hack 10.5 onto them.

    ...i'm gonna do it

I've also heard that the 1GHz+ Quicksilver G4's are pretty okay machines for OSX. Only heard though. The one in that post is most likely a 450MHz version, as it's an early model number.

I'm sure someone will come along in the last few minutes/ deconds and get you out of trouble. I thought that no one would try to out bid me on the motherboard for my First rig revival but I got bid upto £7 for some obscure undesireable motherboard.

Dude, it natively supports up to 10.5.8. Also, Leopard runs worse than Tiger and has no advantages over it. You're drunk!

My G4 is one of the latest model sold, with dual 867s and GeForce 4 MX in it, and it still can't do YouTube at 360p on TenFourFox.

It does? *checks Low End Mac*

So it does. PPC Macs aren't my wheelhouse. All the Macs in my current possession are C2D's.

Ah, the system doesn't have ram in it though. I think that's why it doesn't "post" correctly.

It's not a scary purchase, it's just not one I'm prepared to make.

well i fixed my MacBooks poor scrolling performance in a way, i disabled all the transparency effects and now it can maintain 60FPS whilst scrolling on some occasions.. well maybe 40/30.. its a MacBook Air after all!.
GeForce 320M (actually really powerful sometimes, beats Intel Atom graphics) but the scrolling performance is poor because i think that if the Geforce was at high clock all the time then the machine would melt

    PowerMac update:

11 hours left, no one else has bid. Shipping is incredibly expensive ($41), but that's okay, the total cost still wouldn't equal other PM G4's listed for parts. It's getting to the point where I'm actually hoping I wind up with the system. There are so many upgrades to be done to them, and it looks really fun to play with. I won't get into a bidding war though, if someone outbids me even 50 cents, it's theirs.
