Anyone else ever wanted the AI to just follow another vehicle, instead of just bashing into them with the chase mode? I really do! The devs could probably incorporate the Chase AI mode, but make it to where, once they get into a radius of the vehicle ahead, they either stop or slow down, not smashing into them. Once you choose the "Follow" mode, you could choose how close they can get to the vehicle ahead. Sorry if this makes no sense, came up with this in a few minutes, but I'm sure you guys are smart enough to get it. If this is already on the bucket list, it should probably be sorta high (in my eyes, I would love this!).
Yeah that would be awesome, I almost never use AI because either the AI avoids me entirely or crashes into me constantly. I'd love to go for a leisurely cruise instead.
Wouldn't mind a Replay AI mode. Could choose a replay and a vehicle from that replay (if more than one) and take the same path without just having playback, so you could drive around while that other car is going through the replay. Could not work if you hit it, then it'd be off course... Would be tricky to make it work, but I think it's possible. Follow - Stated above Realistic Chase - Chases you if it can see you, otherwise roams the map until it finds you again Realistic Flee - Will run away until you cannot see it anymore, then will "hide out" in an alley or hidden backroad. If not such hiding spots it will continue fleeing until it finds one or is spotted again. Patrol - Will choose decalroads that form a loop and keep going around it in a circuit style. Can either have Race or City mode that determines how fast it goes around the track. Convoy - Choose a lead vehicle, it then acts like random without those u-turn points (crash prevention), then other vehicles set with this automatically set to follow[0-inf] and follow the car preceding it (i.e. follow[1] follows follow[0] which follows leader, it acts like a car chain . if a car detects that the one in front of it is disabled it will then follow the next working car i.e. follow[2] will follow follow[0] if follow[1] is disabled) Pack - Any car set to this will be set to target a certain car, and they will take different routes to try and capture or crash the targeted vehicle while avoiding one another. EDIT: New AI Idea Realistic Drive - Vehicles will act as if on Random, but will target nodes in front of building models bias over nodes in the street as end goals. Vehicles will stop at intersections and use proper signalling, and even headlights (if enabled in settings) at night. Vehicles will have a dictionary of speed limits depending on the node they are on. Basically a safe AI driver mode for those crash compilation videos with passerby cars.
To addon, it would be pretty cool if you could make a route for the AI to follow. AKA a rally stage of sorts. Maybe you would drive along the path you want the AI to follow, than save it to that map or something, and have the AI follow that route all the way to the end!
Your Your AI ideas are great. Also, I would like a "rush hour" mode The selected car will try to reach its destination as fast as it could, just like a time trial. The car will overtake any other car/obstacle that will get in its way. Just to shorten it, I would like AI with overtaking properties. I dont know if it's possible, but I wish it will be added soon enough because the "random" AI is the one I use for races in looping circuits. What I dont like with the random AI mode is that when a faster car is behind a slower it will bump/pit maneuver the car in front, and I will restart it all over again, or disable collsions.
welcome to my world. (especially with the FR16, the only way to not allow that to happen is to turn off vehicle collisions in Settings>Gameplay>All the way down.)
same here. some problems I have is I cant get them to go around any racetracks without taking pit roads, alternative routs or going the wrong way. I would also want a derby mode where they go after random cars and not just a specific one, then after that car is disabled it will go after another car. also everything the other people said but I wont repeat them cause I'm lazy.
That's what I do nowadays, but not too often, because I get a very bad framerate when I spawn too many cars at once.So I spawn the right amount of cars (3 cars as seen in my post on the community screenshots thread) w/o getting bad FPS.
A Follow mode would also help with realistic police chases, since real police don't run 100MPH into the runner on every corner.
Admittedly it could be kinda difficult, but I think realistically driving AI (turn signals, etc) would be really good for people's crash compilation videos.
May not be a mode, but if anyone here knows what it's like to add AI to decalroad's, it would be great if the devs add a way to make all of the decal roads to a specific number I guess? (0.5, 1, -1) or even make it to where you can select multiple roads exept for one at a time and change it.
1. They should add an option to chase where the AI could chase random vehicles, and it would be very useful in demolition derbies because I want the AI to try to destroy all the vehicles, not just one vehicle. 2. They should add a racing mode were a vehicle tries to pass another vehicle and doesn't crash into it so it would be very useful to set up AI races.
