I like how I'm pretty much in the center of one of the red circles yet I still have internet. I must be privileged because I'm with Virgin.
Satalite internet. It sucks worse than you can ever possibly imagine. 800ms ping is an all-time low right now. 5Mb/s and .03Mb/s is an all-time high right now. 20Gb data cap. WTF can't Comcast service my area? At least DSL, just come on. Goodbye Overwatch, CS:GO, Spintyres and other games I love
I lived with that for 7 years, twas not fun at all. Except we had that on/off peak bullshit so the time we were actually home, we were using our on peak of 2gb which NEVER lasted more than about 12 days, meaning we got stuck with about 0.05mb/s at best. Off peak we only had 12gb which was good on school holidays and weekends but pointless for 75% of the year. Ping was also about 750ms at best, sometimes it was about 600ms but that was probably wrong.
You guys winging about satellite broadband. You guys obviously never dealt with dialup when everyone else had broadband. #justruralnzthings.
If you live somewhere as beautiful as New Zealand that's probably less of an issue. (only slightly joking)
Has its downsides like any other country. Skin cancer and sandflies for example. And consumables are fairly expensive which is to be expected when living in an island nation and smallish population. But not as expensive when my parents were kids.
Switch to dial up then for that 56k goodness. Tbh i doubt you have 10k considering you've uploaded screenshots that would have failed upload at 10k --- Post updated --- I had dial up in 2010, by which point fiber optic home internet plans reaching 50 megabit speeds were available in some places and yet i had to put up with 50 kilobit speeds
I bought another vintage camcorder today, this time a CCD-AU230 from 1990. Paid about 1 hundred for it (inc postage from victoria) and by the time it arrived a week later the capacitors were dead and the only thing i got in the viewfinder was garble. now i've got to fix this bugger somehow smh
Did the website went down for a couple of hour? Keeps showing "An unexpected error occurred" and "502 bad gateway" when I tried to visit a hour ago
A good way to remove the old SMD caps is to clip the can off then cut the base of the cap in half. Then you can unsolder each side from the PCB and solder in your replacement. You can use regular through hole caps so long as they'll fit and are the same value, just clip the leads real short and solder them to the pads.
I love a V8 as much as the next guy, there's nothing more American. But, uhh.... This sounds SOOOOOOOOO much nicer.
