Gearbox Damage simulation

So maybe I just missed this somewhere along the line and everyone knows about this already, but it seems like the game can actually simulate gearbox damage, at least in extreme situations. I dropped gears from 5th to 1st and blew out the 1st gear, it resulted in it having no drive in 1st. Pretty cool to know its simulated.

 

I noticed that too recently, great fun trying to drive with no first or second gear.

 

It's is simulated but, they haven't assigned sounds for it yet IIRC...

 

Yeah, it should make that grinding noise, if you shift without using the clutch at the wrong RPM.

 

I think they are competent enough to realise it might need a sound..

 

Yeah I havent even seen it mentioned before, so its not super surprising that it has no sound effect, I guess that will come later along with everything else.

 

That's really interesting. Wonder if you can damage autos too.

It'd be nice if the engine blew when you did a money shift too.

 

Fairly sure if you get a 200bx or pessima, up the boost and the put on 15x12 or 14 drag slicks and then try to launch it, it will break first gear.

 

I noticed that and it irritates me alot because when i drive it with clutch itll break if i put the gear in to fast and when i drive a long time with the cars i wreck a couple of them

 

Just for you who want gear grinding sounds, I advice using More Features Mod since it has them until these sounds come officially to the game.

 

I have habit of snapping driveshafts when attempting to pull big trailers with 4WD vehicles.

 

Is that in low range mode? Yeah too much power breaks the axles

 

Yeah, with drag racing tires and semi trailer.
