So,I had my permit renewed today. I went for a drive,in Bakersfield. I saw a Hayabusa. And a cop behind it. When the cop turned his lights on and put the siren on for a second,I was like "I'm about to see the start of a chase!" but, then, the Hayabusa actually turned to the side of the road, and stopped. Now,a Hayabusa is a VERY fast bike. He could have outran him,but he didn't. I was amazed, because from what I see on the internet alot of riders who have sportbikes tend to run. I am not saying all of them do,but most of em' do. If you know Bakersfield, almost everybody goes about 10-15 MPH over the limit on the highway, and I am guessing that was why the cop was stopping him but it could be for something else. I was at the edge of the place with all the stores and all that, pretty close the the exit/entrance of the freeway. Even my Dad was surprised. It was weird, but it goes to show not all people with fast bikes run.

I'm actually VERY surprised the motorcycle didn't try to get away.

Of course it would outrun a cop with a 0-60 time range from 2.7-3.5 seconds.

Yea,there are lots of good people out there. Just like that guy. He knows if he runs,he will have to lay low for a long time. Most people who run from the police tend to lay low. Because if they get caught later on,it will be WAAAYYYY worse than it would be if he didn't run earlier.

Love it when the people telling these stories are obviously underage and do not drive...

Besides. Most cop cars have cameras that snap your license plate, running just results in coppers knocking on your front door later that evening with an arrest warrant instead.

Something about statistics, what do you think, how likely it is to guy upload a video to YT about routine check vs guy posting a video about running the cops?

I kinda try to say, that it is very small percentage that runs, police does lot of checking just in case and especially riding such fast bike they tend to grab attention, so you are likely to be pulled out much more. One reason being, controlling bike thefts, they want to check up that person riding should be riding the bike, not all bike owners realize immediately their bike being stolen, especially when stored away from house etc.

So it is not amazing so much as it is normal life, don't believe everything you see on YT or TV, real world is not quite like what impression one gets from those.
