Because their whole purpose is to be as expensive and useless as possible.

If its an ink jet printer it may be because you don't use it enough. Also for those unaware you can heavily cut costs by buying third party ink, it will void your warranty but you can buy a printer for less than what the official ink costs.
Equally use your printer over USB if possible, they tend to be pretty easy to set up then, failing that Ethernet cuts out all of the wifi issues they tend to have from naff wifi solutions.

If you only need black and white printing buy a laser printer, it will still need toner refills but the extra reliability and longevity of the consumables will be nice (since printer ink will dry up over time while toner stays ok for much longer).

My brother printer (MFC-J885DW, don't ask why I know the exact model #)'s ink costs about 5 bucks for a cartridge of black. That's why I love them. If you're getting a new printer, if recommend a brother because of the:
    Excellent driver support
Not hard to set up (If you know what you're doing)
    Cheap ink
    Not expensive
    Etc.
This is NOT an advertisement. Or sarcasm.

Yeah I just replaced the ink in my one, the cost of legit ink was like 120% the cost of the printer. So ebay ink it was, works fine but it constantly bitches about it being non genuine anytime i check it or try to print.

I just use old laserjet printers, they're to buy used on eBay, toner is cheap and they're generally bulletproof, and even if they do go bad you can still get parts well for HP's laserjet series at least. I never need to print in colour so B&W only models don't bother me.

HP has an ink subscription service starting at $3.99 CDN per month. I think they say that lets you print about 50 pages per month for less than half the normal cost, but I don't print anything ever so I don't know how useful that is. And you need an HP printer obviously.

Windows 8.1 on my grandfather's computer committed suicide after updating last night.

Stupid excuse for an OS. Makes Vista look stable. *Grumbles off into the distance*

HAH! You're funny. Bother's drivers are complete and utter shit. It's horrible to try to keep one of these damn things working properly.

I had an issue with an Epson scanner my grandparents had that didn't have Win10 drivers thus rendering it useless. But there is a bit of software called VueScan which supports pretty much every scanner out there and allows you to keep them running with a fairly nice GUI even after you have been end of lifed by the manufactorer. Maybe there is something similar for printers?

Honestly, I've had very few problems getting Canon printers working (except in a networked environment).

My current printer is a Dell something or another. I think the model is the 1165? I don't know, it's junk and I hate it. It'll randomly fall off the network, the drivers are terrible, and it's so cheaply made. You'd expect more from a "business class" printer.

I have a cheap HP inkjet, can get cartridges for it for under £10 in tesco. Was plug and play on windows 8 and 10. Not once hiccuped.

You can get few days extra if you stop using underwear after none is clean anymore.

Depends if its underwear that I've ran out of :p

I normally run out of tops first with the current state of my wardrobe, not sure what uni would think if I started turning up to lectures and workshops topless xD

Today has been fairly eventful. A day off, how nice.

9:00 AM, I'm over at a buddy's house. Back in January he bought a 96 half ton 4wd Dodge for $300, as it had a crappy flat black rattle can paint job on top 9 tons of bondo, and a tree fell on it and caved in the roof right above the driver's seat.
He bought it for the trans, but after having it sitting in his yard for a couple months has convinced him to build it, just get it ready for mudfest next weekend, then start building to the moon after that.

Today we put another trans in it, I traded him a set of Courser M/T mud tires for the brand new street tires that were on it, we jacked the roof back up where it belongs, and cut the top of the door frames off, so they'd close.

Then around 1:00, I get home, and talk to another friend of mine, and then immediately get Tom Sawyer-ed into waxing his car, 4 hours later it's clean, and my hands are just claws.

Around 5:00 I went out and unloaded the "new" tires, and pulled the light bar off, as I think it was getting into a fight with the voltage regulator, and the regulator was losing and it was starting to over charge, So I pulled the light bar off and I'll see what happens.

I just realised that Oreos are chocolate. I know this seems obvious in hindsight, but does anyone else find it weird? I guess I always thought of them as just being Oreo-flavoured.

Why the fuck YouTube translate English title videos into French ?

I've been watching English videos without subtitles since always.
    Fucku.png
Don't know why YouTube does that, probably a way to get more view from non-english speaker people, but since most of those vids aren't subtitled in French/other languages I don't see the point.
