How to Work This Game??

I just downloaded this game, and the controls are absolutely horrible. I've been looking around to try to figure out how to change them, but it appears as though I have a different version of this game? Everyone says to hit the Esc key, but that only asks me if I want to end the mission. The only controls I've figured out so far are,
Q: Parts Config
W: Forward
S: Stop/Reverse
A: Left
D: Right
J: Pause
E: Vehicle Select
N: Headlights
Space: Parking Brake?

For the life of me, I just can't figure out how to change this stuff. I'm not very skilled with computers, so I have no idea what y'all are talking about when you say "bindings" and stuff like that. I've looked on forums, Google'd, YouTube'd, and I just can't find anything that helps me. Everything other people say/show in their vids doesn't seem to apply to my game. It's totally in-playable.
Even when I hit F1, it brings up a controls list, but they are 100% inaccurate. They show the arrow keys controlling the vehicle movement, but that doesn't work for me.
Somebody please help me with what I'm doing wrong. I'm not even trying to use mods or anything, I just simply want to play the game to start with.
PLEASE HELP!!!
I'm sorry if this seems like a waste of a thread, but again, I'm not great with computers. I more or less know how to point and click. Oh, and I can type rather well.
This has been very frustrating just trying to play the game, and I'd love to know what I'm doing wrong. I almost feel like I need to meet with one of y'all in person to get this going.

I don't really know what I could post pics of. Other than the menus, but that wouldn't show which buttons I hit to bring up said menus.

 

You seem to be on the tech-demo version of the game ;p
You can't change the controls in the demo

 

Unless you go into the files. I got a Flight Sim controller working with the techdemo once.

May I ask how to see which version I have? It certainly sounds possible that I have the Tech-demo. I downloaded the game from "{removed}.com".

Oh, and I will add, when I first start the game, at the main menu, it does have a sign in the corner that says "things we are working on: bug fixes, etc.".

 

Sounds legit. I see your link to purchase it, but is it also offered in stores? Such as Walmart, or Game Stop?

Not intentionally. I know a lot of these style games are available to download online, but again, I'm not the best with computers, so I often don't know exactly what I'm downloading. As in whether or not it's an official copy.

Figures, because where as I've heard of Steam for quite a while now, I still don't understand exactly what it is. There's another game I'm interested in, Spintires Offroad, but it also says you must have a valid Steam account to play the game.
