Your graphics card is way below our minimum requirements. A GTX 650 can barely run it on low, and you have a 620.

How come a GTX 620 can't run it but a 560 can?

    GT 620 <<<<< GTX 560

And it's GT, not GTX, that means it's a card meant for multimedia, not gaming.

Because a 560 is much more powerful than a 620. The number at the front is just the generation, think of it as the model year of a car. The second number(s) and suffixes denote the performance relative to the other cards in that generation.

I always use the BMW analogy. Think of a GTX 580 as being a 2009 BMW M3, while the GT 620 is a 2013 BMW 320i. The M3 does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, while the 320i does 0-60 in 8 seconds. It's newer, but it's slower and cheaper.

That is very true, but in todays market they are trying to make there cars cheaper (Price and built quality) to stay in the market as a rival for Mercedes.

Yeah, I don't need to see a comparison. I've posted specs in the 'whats under your hood' thread.

Runs the game fantastic, only over clocked to 750mhz. Shader clock to 1500mhz.

    Kinda wierd he's getting 12fps with a GT620.

As far as I know the 620 is on the low end of mobile cards (aka very very slow), while you have a top end (albeit very old) high performance GPU. So I'd just use my BMW analogy again.

My 8400gs gets a score of 115 in passmark and maybe gets 9-10 fps on dryrock island. The gt 620 gets 435, assuming it's a desktop gpu. He should get 4x ish better frames than me right?

edit: i also play on 1024x768 and texture on lowest so that could be it.

GT 620 is essentially 6th generation model 20 whereas the 560 is 5th generation model 60 (not strictly true as I think they started with 4xx series cards and there was a revision generation during 4xx, but it kinda works).

The 20 is literally meant to be a replacement integrated graphics and isn't even too good at that. Not really any better than an HD4000 GPU which is integrated into ivy bridge intel chips.

Oh, the i7 3770 is quad core, not octa. It has hyperthreading to add more logical cores (or at least that is how most operating systems see it but it does only have 4 physical cores, not 8.

he's not captain obvious, he'd Judge obvious,

but yeah, I have an i7-3770 and a GT 630, and on fullscreen 1920x1080, it runs decent, by decent, I mean on med-high settings i can usually have a "stable" 20-30 frames, with one car.
no matter what i run it windowed, 60+ frames look much better than 30.
I'm gonna upgrade the graphics card to a (hopefully) gtx 660, unless the 700 series is better, but that's just like Gabe's analogy.

    what do you guys think?

If you can afford it, the 760 would be a better choice. My analogy above is that it would be a 7th generation model 60 as opposed to 6th generation. But the 7xx series cards being newer are more expensive. 660 would be perfectly fine for BeamNG, but it is a generation older. the 760 probably isnt really much more powerful (I could go and find some benchmarks but its sunday, today should be lazy day, overexerted myself already :p ) but it is the current gen card so is likely to have driver support for longer.

The 760 (Similar to 670) is actually quite a bit faster than the 660, would be worth it to me. Personally I would always go for the highest end card of the most current gen you can afford, for the reason above: the newer cards will be supported for longer after you buy.

I can recommend a GTX 650ti Boost 2GB. I got mine for around $160 at best buy and it can handle high settings with postfx off and get 40-60 FPS on a vegetated map.

okay, but will a 700 series need a new motherboard?
    or will it fit
    (pbtbhtbth)
    like a glove?
