pickup makes terrible daily driver for many people. Beds are great for large cargo, crap for smaller cargo. It just rolls about, sometimes falls out (witnessed) and generally is a pita, and is exposed to elements.
Speaking as a skinny American, Can debunk this. I drive my SUV because it's fun. Big ol' 2003 GMC Yukon XL with a 5.3 V8, it's actually pretty freakin' quick, corners like a boat (But I like that. Make me feel bigger.), holds all my buddies (We are all quite tall, so LEGROOM), It looks pretty good, and is suuuuuuper comfortable. Not to mention the deluxe sound? Good bass for stock, really loud (good for any music, especially Metal/Rock), and can play CDs and Cassetes. And 4x4 is great. And while it may get nada for MPG it's actually pretty good on the Highway lol. And I get that "Fat Americans" is the running joke of the world but I felt the need to defend myself lol. Also take a look at Toyota, PLEASE. Wonderful rigs. I think the 4Runner is available there... Or do they call it the Hilux Surf still? Either way, Really good on and off the road loads of space, good tech, and I mean c'mon there has to be something for reliability there, they have a pedigree of breaching 400,000 miles with good care.
Cost 56000€ here! It's my point here, it's why suv are good, but it's more the type of American suv, not European suv, they are build like car here. No sadly the 4runner isn't sold here and the engines of the hilux is really underpowered for the price (180hp I think)
Ah. Well I wish you luck in your search! Perhaps you can find something fun (And spacious) to drive. And I do recommend pickups if you can get cabs large enough for your family, they'll go anywhere and if you have the right motor it'll do it on no gas (Wish they still sold i4 light pickups in the US. Because sometimes you don't want or need a v6 or v8.)
i recommend the new ford ranger if you need a pick up its the best in its class we have it with the 3.2l i5 turbo diesel duratorq engine and 6 speed automatic
Hum, sorry, Fiat what ? The CountryMan isn't from Mini ? Don't get me wrong, I love subaru, but the big problem of the Outback is that even the 2l5 engine have a max power of 170 hp I did not rally realise that in the first time, but with the engine, the Ecotax is up to 10 000 € Spoiler: Tax thing price 127g/km : malus de 50 euros - 128g/km : malus de 53 euros - 129g/km : malus de 60 euros - 130g/km : malus de 73 euros - 131g/km : malus de 90 euros - 132g/km : malus de 113 euros - 133g/km : malus de 140 euros - 134g/km : malus de 173 euros - 135g/km : malus de 210 euros - 136g/km : malus de 253 euros - 137g/km : malus de 300 euros - 138g/km : malus de 353 euros - 139g/km : malus de 410 euros - 140g/km : malus de 473 euros - 141g/km : malus de 540 euros - 142g/km : malus de 613 euros - 143g/km : malus de 690 euros - 144g/km : malus de 773 euros - 145g/km : malus de 860 euros - 146g/km : malus de 953 euros - 147g/km : malus de 1 050 euros - 148g/km : malus de 1 153 euros - 149g/km : malus de 1 260 euros - 150g/km : malus de 1 373 euros - 151g/km : malus de 1 490 euros - 152g/km : malus de 1 613 euros - 153g/km : malus de 1 740 euros - 154g/km : malus de 1 873 euros - 155g/km : malus de 2 010 euros - 156g/km : malus de 2 153 euros - 157g/km : malus de 2 300 euros - 158g/km : malus de 2 453 euros - 159g/km : malus de 2 610 euros - 160g/km : malus de 2 773 euros - 161g/km : malus de 2 940 euros - 162g/km : malus de 3 113 euros - 163g/km : malus de 3 290 euros - 164g/km : malus de 3 473 euros - 165g/km : malus de 3 660 euros - 166g/km : malus de 3 853 euros - 167g/km : malus de 4 050 euros - 168g/km : malus de 4 253 euros - 169g/km : malus de 4 460 euros - 170g/km : malus de 4 673 euros - 171g/km : malus de 4 890 euros - 172g/km : malus de 5 113 euros - 173g/km : malus de 5 340 euros - 174g/km : malus de 5 573 euros - 175g/km : malus de 5 810 euros - 176g/km : malus de 6 053 euros - 177g/km : malus de 6 300 euros - 178g/km : malus de 6 553 euros - 179g/km : malus de 6 810 euros - 180g/km : malus de 7 073 euros - 181g/km : malus de 7 340 euros - 182g/km : malus de 7 613 euros - 183g/km : malus de 7 890 euros - 184g/km : malus de 8 173 euros - 185g/km : malus de 8 460 euros - 186g/km : malus de 8 753 euros - 187g/km : malus de 9 050 euros - 188g/km : malus de 9 353 euros - 189g/km : malus de 9 660 euros - 190g/km : malus de 9 973 euros - 191 et plus/km : malus de 10 000 euros If not, I've check the Discovery Sport, with the 2l0 of 240hp, it seems like avery good model, a proper off-roader, with nice base equipements, and some good perfomance for 4k less than the GLC, The Evoque isn't also too bad (Same engine and close too same size)
Buying 1 year old car or 6 months old car is pretty much same as new car, except price is a lot less and you have to look one that has right color and every option you want.
