Well, since this thread is about the best rally car you have seen, I'll just post a few I've seen irl
I think that wheelbase was shortened for that later version when they also added plow to it along with ton of other changes. Then there are Quattro rally cars and Quattro group B rally cars, they look bit similar, but are quite different. I think I like Group B Quattro best, short wheelbase version, I have seen those in action and no video can make justice to that experience.

Okay sorry for bumping my own thread but is was an rally car too not too popular but it was great the Subaru RX Turbo.
Actually, this Lada appeals to me more than all the other cars. Some of the most fun I've had in FH2 was in my Datsun 510 amateur-spec rally car. --- Post updated --- Sorry, but I just can't see anything that awesome in a Stratos or Group B cars. They're just fast-for-their-age cars. I actually prefer some hooptie-ish modification of a normal car, preferably Malaise, by an enthusiast with an idea. This Crown Vic really caught my eye:
