It doesnt always work, there has been many times i have been at 70mph in the XT roamer and then with hard sudden braking and full lock it can lock the wheels and the ABS doesnt kick in

Maybe this is a reference as to how shoddy Ford parts are, considering the Roamer is mostly based on the older Ford Explorers.

Try to change the settings for the transfer case such as not sending power to the front wheels. This problem occurs IRL too because once the wheels lock in the front, the back wheels will lock as the shaft stops too.

Yup, this behavior is 100% realistic. I used to have a 94 Ford F-150 and in icy conditions, if you managed to lock one of the wheels in 4WD, then all four of them would lock completely defeating the ABS system. It has nothing to do with being a Ford either as any 4X4 with a locked center diff in 4WD will experience the same problem. It would be much less pronounced on a vehicle that has ABS on all four tires instead of just the rears, but it can still happen.

This is how ABS works. BeamNG use local data like wheel speeds (instead of airspeed like most sims use) and ABS detects when 1 or more wheels lock up and then tries to prevent it. But if all 4 wheels suddenly lock, ABS thinks the car is stopped and so it does not activate. This is why ABS is not as effective in slippery conditions because it's easier to lock all 4 wheels.
