I use to play BeamNG.drive on my 2013 Mac Book Pro running Windows 10 on bootcamp getting great framerates of 3 FPS and even better temperatures of 102 degrees celius. Temps and FPS increasing every day. Until one fateful day when my frames reached 13 FPS and my CPU reached 132 degrees celsius it was making popping sounds. Then black screen. It would not turn back on. R.I.P 2013 to 2017 You Will Be Missed.
What CPU exactly did you have? Edit: AFAIK there are temperature limits of some sort. Shouldn't the thing like turn off or underclock when temps are too high?
Geez.....it's obvious the guy is portraying this in a humorous light. I think it's hilarious. As the owner of a terribly weak i3 Toshiba potato that ran BeamNG for the first 6 months I can totally relate....and laugh.

GPUs dying inside overheating macbooks is stupidly common, so its not exactly far out to say that... Like everyone else is saying, they have CPU temperature limits, otherwise they wouldn't throttle in most work loads as they do, its to stop it from overheating due to bad ventilation.

They may cost a fortune for essentially nothing, but they're good people, at heart, way deep down. My friend had a phone with a bulging battery and the Apple Store literally gave him the new phone as soon as they knew what happened. Horrid prices, good people.
Good people? My boy, it's a multi-billion dollar corporation that couldn't care less about you unless you're buying. They do only what they have to in order to maintain a good public image. Apple will take any chance to screw you over to save a penny, provided you can't go to a lawyer or the media. Although, I should point out that most large companies are like this, it's not specifically Apple.
My MacBook Air late 2010 isn't bad, it's got a nice GeForce 320M GPU (could nicely power BeamNG at lowest settings at 1024x768) and a C2D at 1.8ghz. Admittedly under full load it didn't run good, especially GPU heavy stuff ran the fan all the way up. But it teaches you to tone down the settings in games to achieve a spot on the fan curve, like on minecraft I can have my laptop smooth quiet and power efficient on low settings but it can be a beast on higher settings. My HP Compaq NC8430 is a DX9 beast, it's got an ATI X1600 which is very nice, runs most DX9 games, but BeamNG doesn't run on it (even DX9 version and everytine I file a bug report it's ignored or people just say it's too old) My Advent 5301 is a nice laptop, it's quiet and power efficient (6/7 yr old battery lasts an hour still!) Asus T100taf is well gutless, it just annoys me that the CPU doesn't kick its frequency up more since it is only 60C under Prime 95 load (I'd like 80-90C underload)and the Intel GPU isnt good, it doesn't cut it for mobile games either. Although a 4 core game will run nice since it's a quad-core. I don't think I will ever throw away my PCs as they all work and do as intended.
