recently ive been assigned to make a driving simulator, so ive chosed beamNG Drive however my supervisor asked me if beamNG Drive can be played or compatible using a driving simulator 6 degree of freedom Stewart Platform. If it can be played using a stewart platform, what are the software needed to integrate driving setting from the BeamNG Drive to my stewart platform so it can move follow the x-y-z axis base on the movement of the car in the game. please help me
I swear that I recently saw a post with a video where someone actually did this. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it at this moment, but I know I saw it. He would be the guy to ask how to do it.
It took me a while and some digging, but I found it. http://www.beamng.com/threads/running-outsim-lua.9394/
oh on the link got everything i need? the beamNG setting to stewart platform simulator axis setting? softwares? if so thank you so much
I was just posting a link showing that someone did it... I would try to get ahold of the guy (value1) to see if he could tell you how he did it. There is some code that he created in Lua to make this possible. He also used SimTools to enable the communication to work. Edit: I am not sure of your experience with this kind of stuff or what your job really is, but this isn't just plug and play kind of stuff. You are going to need to learn some Lua coding and learn how your Stuart Platform interfaces with your machine. I am not entirely sure any game will just interface right out of the box with a Stuart Platform, but if you do get it working, I think I speak for everyone here in saying that we would love to see it in action.
by the way if you cant get it to run with beamng i would recommend assetto corsa. i heard that porsche uses an altered version in its experience for people to try out their cars so there must be something right about the way they do things.
what he means is that anything that isnt covered in the link, you are going to have to work out yourself.
