What does the name BeamNG mean??

hey, I was wondering, what does BeamNG mean?
This game's gotta have a name, and BeamNG works fine, but it's got to mean something.
I thought it would be called VehicleDestruct or DriveSimulator or something. BeamNG.drive makes it obvious it's a car game, but what does BeamNG mean?
Am I being stupid here?

 

Well im always thought the beam had to do with the jbeam used to make the car damage.

 

Beam Next Generation, I believe.

 

If I remember correctly BeamNG was made as the successor to Rigs of Rods. Rods = Beams; so Beam Next Generation sounds pretty spot on to me.

 

I believe Beam is because of the node/beam structure used for the cars in the game, to simulate the physics of the car's structure.

 

I thought it was something to do with beams, as ROR is with rods, I just hadn't figured the NG bit. Thanks

BeamNG is the software used to build the game. The name of the game is based on the engine used for the game
