My old Chromecast which broke seems to be haunting my phone... Wherever I am it's always a casting option in Spotify...
My grandpa's laptop with an i5 and GT 840m graphics runs beam better than it seemed to be in that video...
If i recall. the 840M is more powerful. The RX460 gpu in a macbook pro is abysmal. Absolutely fucking awful.
I'm still laughing at the fact in 2016 you can still buy a dual core laptop with 500gb of storage for $4000.
Christ, when will people understand that the 15" is a true quad core? I mean, the price is still ridiculous, but $4,000 buys you Intel's second to top tier mobile i7, 1TB of PCIe storage, and the Radeon Pro 460. Also, fun fact, the Radeon Pro 450 is actually slower than the iGPU. The 455 is about on par and the 460 is only marginally faster.
None of the 13" or 15" options go up to 1tb according to apples website and that aside they are still awful value for money even for the quad core i7 its not great. You could buy countless other laptops that are more powerful and have considerably more I/O options (that "pros" would use) for the price. Especially when you are talking about the lower end models like the 13" 256gb dual core i5 that is still $1,800
Or the retarded customers that are willing to pay that much. My 1100 euro laptop is even better. If I was going to spend 4000 euro on a laptop, I would buy a gaming laptop if I had to buy something, and a vacation or even a second hand car
i dont think the I/O options are bad. Need for adapters is annoying yes. But dual thunderbolt 3 outputs on a type C connector that does USB 3.1 too (or displayport 1.3). Other side, USB 3 on type C again. Everything should be moving to type C anyway. Need for adapters I cannot argue as an annoyance, but should lessen over time.
Personally I would much rather see both type A and type C. Type A is still incredibly prevalent, I don't care if type C will replace it, I still need type A in order to get things done today and I would rather not have to carry adapters to achieve it. I don't see USB 2.0 dying any time soon either. Type C still hasn't had the chance to prove itself as a long lasting connector yet, while it certainly is a step up from micro b due to its physical size I am not convinced that it may outlast a type A connector especially when mistreated. As for the macBook Pro, it will most likely be obsolete before type C becomes mainstream due to the naff specs (for the money) in the best selling models. The most entertaining part is that if you buy an iPhone and a MacBook Pro you will have no way of connecting them via usb out of the box. You will need to buy an adapter or a new cable.
I agree that type C is a good thing to have in the future but there is also the fact that many many other connections aren't going anywhere and are completely lacking on the new macbook pro. I understand this on the run of the mill macbook which is not going to get much more use than a generic chrome book. But on a full "professional" laptop these options should be there and shouldnt need to be bought separately after dropping $3000 for a laptop... There is also a number of issues with adapters not working correctly or causing issues. One really notable issue is when a device is plugged into the USB port the laptop will just drop WiFi connection until its removed. The long and short of it is there is absolutely no excuse for dropping functionality in favor of appearance (which is ironically even worse with numerous adapters) on a professionally orientated laptop.
