Good evening! Now I'm browsing forums and instead of the usual "like" I noticed more options. Am I the only one or you have these options too? Sorry for asking just I didn't notice any official information about this.
Everyone has them. The devs have remade the rating system into what we have now. It's test at the moment. They also seemed to have removed the notifications you get when you get one of your posts like or "rated" as it is now. This was done to avoid spam.
Well................ I'm a bit afraid to click the unlike button to others' threads and replies, any one can help me?
This seems alright but I have reservations about the "dislike" option. I feel it is pointless and will invite resentment and spamming. The "disagree" option is much better. I like the idea of conversing about something I do not like versus a silly button that could instantly invoke bad feelings. The "dislike" option might create more arguments and derision as people try to ascertain why a given person doesn't like something. That would in arguably pollute threads even worse. Admiester's post is a spot on description. This post edited for clarity.
I might as well chip in. I like the idea of diversifying the positive ratings. Splitting them up into different versions make it more clear what someone "is getting out of" your post versus a plain Like. But on the flipside, I feel that it'd be better to simply just have the positive ratings, for example before if you liked a post you would leave a Like, if you didn't you did nothing and went about your day. I feel like it's a bit of a subset of "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it", but it's more like "if you have something to say on the contrary, post and explain instead of leaving a negative icon on the post". Just my two cents, I think it's better to have positive/none versus positive/negative as it essentially forces you to contribute, preventing people from just spamming it without an explanation. It also helps those who might feel a bit insecure about their posts.
I removed the negative ones. The remaining things are the default 'neutrals'. I guess these should go as well
You guys are just having a blast with this ain't ya?......I do like the "like" better. Basically the only thing wrong was the dislike in my opinion. The additional varying inputs appear to be kinda cool actually.
Looks good to me. The only other thing I'd say now is that it the CSS looks a bit odd how the blue bar is present even without a post having ratings. If it has to be there for the clickable ratings icons to work then I understand of course.
Hm, I liked having "Disagree" and "Dislike" at least be there. Not much point with broadened positive reactions if it's a more complicated version of "Like" imo.
