The way that the game is coming along here tells me that this is a professional game. Realistic deformation built by the creators and maps built by the creators. (Gabester and LJFHutch (DoNotEat?) I think?) Such things as swapping bumpers in a garage or something in game seems to be on the planning board.

However, with this sort of complication in the creating of vehicles; as well as the overall maturity of the game, will there be any unofficial releases? If not, a lot of pressure will be on those two people. However, if there are unofficial releases, the game might not remain as a top tier high quality game.

As a compromise between the two, I think that there should be a section of unofficial cars that are not supported by the BeamNG creators; something comparable to that of GTA IV's unofficial mods. In order to help the non-funded creators in the game, maybe a set of universal parts could be made. Those fenders and parts could then scale themselves to the restrictions of the car.

    Thoughts?

There will be unofficial releases, hence the 'unofficial showroom' board. That board has content that isn't made by the developers. Right now it's just DNE's PenguinvilleNG map there, but as time goes on there will be more content there.

As for vehicles, I don't think the developers have released the info about how to make a vehicle for BeamNG yet. They likely will eventually, but for now we'll just have to wait.

I think you'll find a lot of modders from rigs of rods will drift over and start making vehicles for beamng. DNE isin't officially part of the project, (as far as I'm aware) and thus he's started creating an "unofficial" terrain. Now looking at his terrain, I think we can assume that If anything mods will add to the game rather than dragging it down from the "top tier". Also I think the comparison with GTA mods isin't very valid. As far as I know, Rockstar doesn't actively support or encourage modding of its games, whereas beamng has created an unofficial showrooms board on their own forum, signifying a similar attitude to mods as there was on the RoR forums.

    That is a good point.

I certainly hope this will be just like the ROR forums, but just without the b*tching.

At least here we are starting fresh for the most part. I'm betting that this forum will be much better, we have an idea from the RoR forums on how to handle things. Yes, we will get kiddies here that like the damage model for BeamNG. But one suggestion I would make is possibly have something similar to RRR (anyone from the really old forum will understand this). But there are still downsides to this.

I also think we should make the age limit for this forum very clear. And also keep a strict rule on literacy. I find sometimes on the RoR forums that some invited members and up aren't impartial. Some people being illiterate can get away with it as others can't. But, I'm not really complaining, the administration has come a long way.

Now back to RRR, is it legal to have kids under 13 be able to post only in RRR, but be able to PM/VM and view the main boards? I'm not sure about legal things similar to this. So basically they can post and talk in their own small forum, along with regular members if they choose. And if the +/- vote for posts are integrated, RRR members wouldn't have access to that feature.

Possibly integrate infractions with RRR too? As in, if you get X number of infractions you are sent to RRR for X amount of days.

Now if you don't agree with my statements, say so if you want. I'm open to a discussion.

I wasn't there when it was around, but one person said something about it on the RoR forums.

I think it was like where you 'go' (Either you could only see that forum or you couldn't post elsewhere) if you get banned.

It apparently was a subfourm where you go if you got -5 helpfulness or were immature. The rules were relaxed and you could see the other forums but not post there.
