Juggernaut Features : - 4 scenarios making you cross Small Island and Utah from corner to corner without deviating from a straight line - 1 special scenario making you go around Small Island without putting a wheel on tarmac - 1 special scenario making you go the source of Utah's river, by following the river Enjoy ! Leaderboard : Small Island - Southwest to Northeast : 1- Ryvylo - 01:11.12 2- torsion - 01:26.97 Small Island - Southeast to Northwest : 1- Ryvylo - 01:23.25 2- torsion - 01:27.97 Special - Small Island : 1- Ryvylo - 02:12.45 2- torsion - 2:29.51 Utah - Northeast to Southwest : 1- torsion - 2:29.51 2- Ryvylo - 02:40.42 Utah - Southeast to Northeast : 1- torsion - 06:15.23 2- Ryvylo - 07:02.23 Special - Utah : 1- Ryvylo - 07:31.98 Credits : - The BeamNG team for their awesome game, and the ferry asset used
Utah - Southeast to northeast: perfectly doable with wheels out of alignment, cracked windshield, deflated FR tire, half of the doors and bend frame. Just patience, some good electronic music and lead foot --- Post updated --- Utah Special: deflated RR tire and front smashed beyond recognition. Damn I'm a good driver. (Everything at first try)
Well, I'm having a really good time so far. Attacking these at full throttle is pretty tricky and really shows off how much better the new vegetation system in Utah is than the system used with the stuff on Small Island (IMO). The scenarios definitely antagonize me, but there is (mostly) a lot of room to try interesting things so it's hard to stay mad. My times so far: Juggernaut - Small Island - Southwest to Northeast: 1:25.97 Juggernaut - Small Island - Special: 2:32.34 (first completion) Juggernaut - Small Island - Southeast to Northwest: 1:26.95 Juggernaut - Utah - Northeast to Southwest: 2:35.58 (first completion)
The Cliff has a terrain too step to drive on, and all the other maps are too enclosed with vegetation walls. That's why I asked if there was a way to delete specific vegetations objects here, but I guess this isn't possible. So I can't do it for other maps
It's not perfect, but you probably could simply swap out the entire forest as part of a scenario using Lua.
@davidinark I like some of the suggestions you made. With a scenario like this where the path is mostly a straight line I think a progress meter would be doable. That would be neat. The "specials" which aren't straight lines would be significantly more complex to make granular progress meters for, but not impossible I think. --- Post updated --- I already wasn't a big fan of driving along the river in Utah at high speeds, so I played that Utah Special to about 85-95% and then took a page from davidinark and called it quits when I disabled my vehicle. That was my least favorite of these scenarios, followed by the other special I think. ... then I moved on to the final Utah scenario, Juggernaut - Utah - Southeast to Northeast. That's more my speed! I really enjoyed it and felt challenged. My first completion was in 6:16. (I overheated in my previous run, which was really cool IMO... I plowed into an embankment about halfway through and thought that I could probably swing it w/ the damage. Turned out that I was wrong. )
pity... :/ --- Post updated --- maybe you could remove some vegetation just for the scenarios and make it possible to go through
That's actually exactly what the post you quoted is talking about. RyvyLo wanted to "remove some vegetation just for the scenarios" and was unable to come up with a solution. Although I did make a suggestion for a (worse) alternative method earlier in this thread. I think my method would be "good enough" but ultimately could prove difficult to maintain.
Thanks ! I'm actually quite surprised that lots of people like this resource and that it became featured, for me it's just a relatively simple mod !
I just found the screenshots with my times, so here are they : - Juggernaut - Small Island - Southwest to Northeast : 01:37.93 - Juggernaut Special - Small Island : 02:30.72 - Juggernaut - Small Island - Southeast to Northwest : 01:41.63 - Juggernaut - Utah - Northeast to Soutwest : 02:47.42 - Juggernaut Special - Utah : 07:31.98 - Juggernaut - Utah - Southeast to Northwest : 07:02.23 And all I have to say is : Woah you're fast torsion ! I didn't really tried to go at my maximum speed, but still I though I was quite fast Anyway, I'm currently working on a pretty big update, where I plan to add 6 scenarios, in ECA and JRI now that I know how to remove some vegetation. And I have to say, the ones that are finished aren't easy to complete ! It's also a different kind of offroading, since most of it is finding and fitting through gaps in the vegetation. It requires some precision driving to not be grabbed by the trees ! I will still need some time though, mostly because the slopes are brutal in JRI, and I need to figure out a way to make the roamer able to climb some of them without totally destroying the scenery.
These are some good times, I wasnt that quick as far as I remember... anyway glad to hear the Juggernaut is expanding! I think both ECA and JRI have much potential. BTW: Is it possible to use the other Gavril for some of the new scenarios so we don't have to use Roamer everytime?
Apart from the D-Series crawl version, I think the roamer is equivalent in performance to the Off-Road D-Series. And I like the aspect of having a roofbag and a spare tire, It makes it look like more a scenario where the main objective is to travel and discover new paths.
Thanks for the complement RyvyLo! As BowlerHatJack said, the concept may be simple but it's very original. I really think that the result is really fun to play! I've uploaded some videos. Maybe this will encourage some competition? I improved my time on a couple of scenarios as well! Juggernaut - Small Island - Southwest to Northeast - 1:26.97 Juggernaut Special - Small Island - 2:32.34 Juggernaut - Small Island - Southeast to Northwest - 1:27:97 (plus a bonus run where the poor Roamer barely makes it) Juggernaut - Utah - Northeast to Southwest - 2:29.51 (plus a bonus run where I catch the Roamer on fire in the river, crash, and then almost limp to the finish line with the front end broken) Juggernaut Special - Utah - n/a ... I never completed it. Didn't like it and I'd already done the interesting parts in freeroam. Juggernaut - Utah - Southeast to Northeast - 6:15.23
