Another rather simple mod I can't believe someone else hasn't come up with.

So has anyone played Need For Madness? It's a little java web applet game from the late 2000s, basically a crazy racing game. One of the principle gameplay elements was doing stunts in the air by flipping and rolling then landing on all four wheels.

As you can see, NFM's relationship with physics and reality is distant at best.

    ---

Anyway, so I wanted to see if I could do this in BeamNG, and seeing @Spec Racer Z 's stunts on the Clean Driving thread sort of inspired me to do this.

So, here it is: Arcade-like aerial control for the Covet.

You have roll and pitch controls. Here's what it looks like in zero G:

And here's what it looks like in practice:

    USAGE:
    - (IMPORTANT) Select "Aerial Control Stunt Thrusters" in the 'Additional Modification" slot for the Covet using the parts menu.
    - Controls are displayed in the corner, but otherwise it's WASD on keyboard or D-pad on controller (inverted y axis)

    BUGS:
    - Since I have bound the controls to WASD / D-pad, any other controls using these keys (moving freecam) don't work with this car active. Disable the mod, or switch vehicles to regain these controls. Or alternatively, bind the keys to something else that suits you better

Don't reupload, and don't release without permission.

It's still in Alpha, I need to improve some things, add options for thrust amount, and perhaps other vehicles.

I improved the car's pitching abilities, it now has counter thrusters on the rear so that it can almost flip perfectly around the center of gravity. Stunts should be much more stable and predictable now.

Download in original post, make sure to delete the original one.

Looking forward to checking this one out! Thanks for sharing. Seems like the next step is to add some wings like Rush 2049 ;-)

It won't work. I had it working just fine. But I turned my game off to go do something and came back and now it won't work. I've disabled all my mods and still nothing

Delete all versions of this mod, re-download from the first post, place in Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods, fire up the game, disable all other mods but enable this mod, load the Covet and select the thruster part from the "Additional Modification" slot.

If that doesn't work, then I can't help you.
