guy just seems to be an absolute mong. though to an extent, driver matters more. My 1.8 focus I laid chase to whatever I could while I had it, bmw m5 going for it? Turns out me knowing road and cars limit could catch him. Similar stories with amg's, a mk2 focus RS, porsches etc. yet the 1 car I really had to work at pursuing? An Octavia vRS wagon. I've done the same a bit on my newer 1.6 focus, but that really is a bit long in the tooth and could utilise a bit more power. 1.8 was 113hp, 1.6 is 99, but power band was broader in the 1.8 which was a bit more fun, the 1.6 is enough but in comparison lethargic. but yeah. In an old beat up car I've matched many vehicles that outclassed it even when they themselves didn't appear to want me behind. And yet the one car I struggled most was also one that should have been outclassed by the stuff I could catch. if you can outdrive him too, bingo, he can turbo all he likes but you'll probably nail it even more so
It's gonna be a drag race; launch technique (at which I'm not very good) will be more important than cornering lines. After all the stuff I've posted about, this kid is finding out about exactly zero of my favorite roads; I don't want him to go off and kill himself and/or someone else trying to be Takumi Fujiwara. That'd be rather difficult to live with if I was the one who showed him that the four corners of the world are, indeed, corners.
I daresay a crash wouldn't hurt as long as no one got hurt, if you know what I mean. Bit of a wake-up call from the invincibility complex that teenagers tend to have. My dad crashed so bad when he was 17, even his kids drive like soccer moms . "Shhh, don't tell them you drive a Civic Si," the little man on Googlefluff's shoulder whispers frantically.
That's the problem, though. This guy is so insane (and it appears to run in his family) that he'll probably run over a jogger or cross the center line and head-on an F250 before too long. He might be a Pretty Cool Guy once he grows out of "that" phase, but... not yet. Besides, I've got my own invincibility issues to work through first.
It reboots. But that happens also if you remove the battery and insert it back quickly. If I use the phone while charging, it works fine. As soon I remove the USB cable, it shuts down immediately. I managed to keep the phone on longer by disabling GPS, WiFi, etc.etc. It will still shutdown randomly, but less frequently with those off. I don't have any phone using the same battery to test.
I've settled on the Phanteks Enthoo Pro for my new case. Now I just have to wait for it to go on sale so I can actually afford one. Project "Cheap Lan PC" has slowed to a grinding halt. I'm failing to find Core 2 Quad's on the local Craigslist, and I refuse the use the Pentium Dual-Core E2200 I have (or, even worse, my Pentium D 940). Is a Q9550 too much to ask for?
Guess what? You don't have to buy every single thing! My goal is the Sprint Car series, so I buy the bullrings and short tracks. I'm not gonna go buy Le Mans for my Sprint Car, you choose your own path with iRacing.
They are both different games that do different things. Rally is my favourite racing discipline and BeamNG is one of the best rally games that has came out recently. While I can certainly have a lot of fun racing circuits I generally prefer the narrower and twisty roads. Assetto Corsa is also very good for this as a road racer with the map mods, driving an MX5 along winding mountain roads is a really nice time. Take a Lotus 49 to those roads and you can also have an incredible time since it is a much less forgiving car (while still having ground clearance). iRacing has very little appeal to me though on a financial level and only slight appeal on gameplay. If I could pay a one off fee and play the game whenever I like (rather than having to dedicate myself to it to get any form of value out of it) then I would probably buy it to add to the rest of the outstanding driving games in my steam collection and put some hours into it. But there are so many other fantastic games that for me it does not make sense and that is coming form someone who could afford it. Including games that often cover very similar ground to iRacing and do a very good job of it. Does that make it a bad game though, not at all. Its actually a very solid choice for some. [On a slight side note, you can make cars with lots of downforce in BeamNG as well as tracks to race them on (hirochi raceway would probably be fine). Hint Hint to anyone who needs mod inspiration ]
I know someone at some point was working on an LMP car of some sort, but I don't know the current status of it.
Cheers to whatever knobhead decided it was a good idea to do construction work at 2am. It's 28c in here and all I can hear is the clattering of people hitting steel frames with hammers. Can't they just got to f'ing sleep... The building is far beyond the stages where it needs to be a 24h building site.
That's a great quote. I still probably need to be more careful driving. I drive harshly. Not quickly, 2000 accord isn't fast, but I want to get to the speed limit quicker. I had a bit of a moment though when I locked up my wheel just going down hill. I was only doing about 40mph on a fair hill, and just pressed a little too hard and locked up with a car in front of me. Luckily I let off a bit and got back on the brakes so I didn't slide into him, but I realized even my 155hp accord with FWD is still a 3000lb piece of metal that demands respect. Also I need to treat my tires better. I've probably worn the sidewalls on mine taking sharp curves a bit faster than they should. The tires squeal well before the limit, and I still rarely let them sqeal, but when I take hard turns they get that sound. The deeper rubbing sound. It's probably them bending way over.
I do that kind of stuff too. There are corners where I squeal tires without a second thought. One of them is a left-hander, so that might be why my right-side tires have so much more outside-edge wear than my lefts. Either that or I've got some crazy positive-camber stuff going on; maybe I should get an alignment when I get new tires. That car has certainly taken enough curbs, rocks, potholes, and other suspension abuse to need one.
I have a tendancy to drive pretty recklessly . so much fun though. There is this one cloverleaf that my outback can take at 45-50mph, tires squealing.
sidewalls shouldn't flex much, might just want to check they're upto pressure, they will of course flex a bit just not loads. I do tend to hold cars on peak of their grip. Tis most fun. Actually reminds me that I should check tyres on way back from work, get some air in em maybe
It's pretty rare that I bring a car to the limits of lateral grip at speed. Dunno. Just don't. I prefer hopping curbs and jumping speedhumps.
silly Telltale Games have said that Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 8 would come out today, yet it still hasn't come out for Xbox One, even though it came out for Mobile first (why?), then Xbox 360 and the latest news is that it's come out on PC... Also they've delayed PS3 & 4 until the 16th for Europe for some reason...
