I see this all the time. Some newcomer finds us on Google and replies to a 2 year old thread and all it does is clutter up the threads list with irrelevant junk. And now someone is intentionally going to all old threads and bumping them... So I propose to lock threads that haven't been posted to in over 2 months. Users have the ability to message staff to unlock a thread if they absolutely have something to contribute.
I disagree, the entire point of search is so you can add to or show support for something that has already been posted. I have necro bumped recently because I used search and found my idea had been proposed before, now instead of 2 threads years apart there is a single thread to gauge the level of community support with.
nah. someone might really need help with something so if they read an old thread they can say "i dont understand blah blah blah" instead of clogging the forums was a thread that will have like 2 replies
