I've decided to postpone interior work and go straight to chassis/suspension to get it driveable. However there's still no luck finding some good reference pictures of underbelly.

You've done a remarkable job considering that you said you don't have good reference. The pillars and front crush beams and all that look pretty much how I'd expect them to look :)

I'm not even sure if this is the same car (it's hard for me to tell apart all the hideous French mini-MPV things) but maybe these pics will help:

This one is a C3 Picasso, so not the same car, but maybe helpful:

Thanks! I'm glad that I did not fail yet. It's saw/used this picture from plasticeurope already, actually that's a lucky coincidence that common technique was illustrated by exactly that car. And also this picture rasied a question - how to deal with plastic parts? Did not see an example yet - I guess shattering to pieces is not yet implemented? Front fenders on that one are plastic, so they are never getting any persistent deformation, only breaking to pieces. I guess there is no way yet to have it simulated, right?

The only way right now is to make all of the beams of the part breakable, and tune it right, so that some chunks disappear when desired. You can see this behavior on the grille/fascia of the Gavril D15 and Ibishu Covet, and also on the Bruckell Moonhawk.

    Status report
So I tried to create some basic jbeam file for core body structure and realised that at least basic shapes of the interior shoud be done first so it's possible to place nodes correctly. And to be honest modeling is more pleasant then typing in all those jbeam sequences. Anyway, some fresh pics.
What's completely new is dashboard outer shell and thouse things on windscreen, but what really took some time is "refactoring" of windscreen/roof/front door junction, it was initially made without taking into account the internal support structures, which are conciderably big and fat in this place due to enormous size of windscreen and glass roof. So in case of roll all weight will be concentrated on one section... dunno. NCAP does not have such tests AFAIK but I suspect that there in BeamNG will be a lot of rollovers and it is yet to be figured out what is "expected behavior" there. Either instant collapsing down to seats, or some resistance to deformation.

Milestone 1 done: Jbeam data for middle part of base carcase.

Basically I did this twice, first attempt was unsuccessful, because I got the whole idea wrong and therefore scraped the jbeam structure completely.
Then, I've looked more carefully into official vehicles and it seems that second variant have no tendence to everting or so.
No tuning of nodes and beams so far.

Please take a look on the attached model, any comments and suggestions are welcome.

    Milestone 2 is:
    - fixed all known problems with model, sharp edges replaced by bevels
    - completion of carcase untuned jbeam data (front, back)
    - wheels, front and rear suspention modelled
    - untuned jbeam data for suspention, mounted to base

Very good so far. You've got the N/B correct so far, looks like a promising project :)

I hate to report that, but after addition of wheels it become very obvious that certain shapes are considerably wrong, specifically - wheel arches, all front part, etc. Apparently that shell model I created year before was too draft and I did not check it properly before detailing. After some struggle I decided to correct everything despite that will throw me back. To make status even worse, I also decided to move the whole model to the 0,0,0 point so all jbeam nodes data is also outdated now. So the result will be later, but better, I hope.

Like everyone else is saying, this car looks like it'll be a lot of fun to crash. ;)

Created jbeam data for rear part of carcase. Still untuned - all beams and nodes have the same params.
And I think that there is no sense to bother with bones/nodes params until model is driveable.
So, will ignore some obvious issues for now. Next task: attach rear suspension and wheels.

Make sure your beams are well organized for when you do set up their individual parameters (i.e. main shape beams vs. crossing beams vs. rigidifying bridging beams)
