    Hi! I've created new gauges for the sunburst in gimp, and this took me really long.

    now the only option i see to make my gauges work is to create a completely new sunburst.jbeam , with replaced gauge textures.

    is there an other option or will i have to go with it?

    You should be able to make a new interior part, and have that new part reuse the preexisting mesh and all textures, except for the gauges. Not entirely sure about that, should work though. If not, you could make it use another body style, though it'd take a lot of time to port all mods you've made so far over to that, certainly doable, though.

    i'm having some problems with the interior slot thing. i'm trying to add the gauges but there are always errors in the console and the car wont load because of this.
    Code:
    {
    "sunburst_skin_interieur_vmelectric": {
        "information":{
            "authors":"BeamNG",
            "name":"'Electric' Interieur",
            "value":500,
        },
        "slotType" : "skin_interior",

        "glowMap":{
        "sunburst_gauges":{"simpleFunction":"ignition", "off":"sunburst_gaugesevm", "on":"sunburst_gauges_onevm"},
    ],
        "skinName" : "electricvm",
    }
    }

    not sure whats wrong here. console is giving me useless informations.

    yep , i basically want to re-skin the gauges only. nothing else. i know that i can do it with editing the sunburst.jbeam and sunburst_body.jbeam , but making a separated vehicle with all the parts duplicated will eat way too much memory.

    the best solution is to create a new interior jbeam, create a new sunburst_dash flexbody in blender changing the gauges material into the one you intend to create :)

    Thanks , didnt think about that :D

    changable dashboard would be great. would make things much easier instead of replacing whole bodies.
    i'll see if i can make it work anyway :)

    Yes at the moment you have to duplicate the sunburst body jbeam with a new one pointing to your "sunburst_decal_gauges_vm"

    Found a solution :

    thanks to @Bernd i managed to make it work in a completely different way.

    i selected the faces for the gauges in the dash mesh , duplicated them , moved just a little bit forward , made a new object out of them , (pressing s and then selection) called the new object sunburst_gauges_YOURNAMEHERE and applied my materials.
    then i added the gauge flexbody to a certain part where the gauge fits to , and tada , it's working when i select the part with the gauge flexbody.
