Works great for me ~50fps on high graphics settings with dynamics relections set high, almost stable 60fps without dynamic reflections. Overall very good scenario, thank you. As you wanna some feedback: 1. I'd use 1 more opponent as it shouldn't impact fps (if GPU isn't "bottlenecking") In my tests with i5 4690K @ 4.5GHz (4.7GHZ atm) there's no difference in 5 and 7 cars spawned - as my GPU isn't bottlenecking. 4 cars = 1 per core/thread but 1 core is for Windows and other apps. 7 cars = 2 cars per 3 cores/threads and 1 car for 1 core/thread and there's space for windows and other apps on that last core/thread so it don't affect fps much. 2. Strip cars from bumpers, as they lay on the ground and once you drive on to it you're done as it lock your wheels, also it should improve fps just a bit 3. Bit lower jump would work better IMO - but that's not that important 4. If that's possible AI tweak it's very easy to overtake them and have lead after 1st turn to the end. 5. 2nd version with 2-3 oponents for slower PCs.
Yes, I will make a version with fewer cars, as well as stripping down all the cars. If you sue, then I won't be able to continue development. Your choice. Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm still learning and improving, so anything I can get is awesome. 1. I don't want to alienate too many people from this version, and I think that adding another car would make it borderline unplayable for a good number of people. What I will do instead is add two more versions, one with fewer cars and one with more cars. The lesser version will have maybe 4 cars, while the monster version will have anywhere from 8-10 cars. That way there is something for everyone. 2. I will most certantily have stripped down cars. As it is now, there are too many parts to get stuck on. But, I like my demo derbies with stock vehicles, so what I plan on doing is having an option for non stripped cars. The download will contain two vehicle folders for configurations, the stripped version, and stock version. The user will simply change the name of the folder. 3. This mostly comes down to personal preference. I tried to make something that I felt worked best with the scenario. I designed it so that hitting it at full speed from the confines of the course, you land almost perfectly on the other side. But if you don't make it, it's not too big that you take too much vehicular damage, but not too small that you don't get airborne. 4. I too would love to see the AI to be improved. It's #1 on my to do list. 5. See #1
Very nice scenario. Runs pretty great here, 60FPS. One thing is that tires pops sometimes when you land.
I get 16 fps with low settings and no dynamic reflection and 14 fps with high and full dynamic reflection. What's the point? Anyway... Good otherwise. Allows some good crashes. I would like a 4 car version because I get solid 30fps with that. (specsies: i5 4460 GTX 770 8BG RAM DDR3)
I second a no ramp version. Going forward it would be neat to have a natural open air Fig-8 track with cambered turns, tractor tires, jersey barrier, light poles etc.
Nothing spectacular, also bought pretty cheap. ~600GBP which is damn cheap as in Europe i5 4690K OCed on air to 4.7GHz (CoolerMaster Hyper 212) MSI GAMING GTX 970 OCed to 1450mhz as it's max stable (boost, but it stays at 1450mhz so not that bad) 8GB of DDR3 ram 2400MHz CL10 250GB SSD (Crucial BX100) Z97 Gaming V mobo Well that will be overkill, it will kill performance even on very good i7, I wrote that 6 opponents +player would be best with reason, and I can prove it to you if you wish. (my i5 is almost as fast as i7 4790 in synthetic benchmarks) As it will work best on 4t/4c/8t CPUs (most common), 8 cars on map any my PC will have like 35fps, 9 and it will stay under 25fps, but one more to present state will not affect performance on my PC as there will be free compute power on one core for other apps and OS. Also one more thing for optimization, could you change map to grid small pure? You know blank map, uses less compute power even than grid map, which have a bit obsticles, trees etc.
The one time I played it so far I was the only one still running after 3 laps (I did not hit anyone), so that spoiled the fun for me. And I have a suggestion that you could round up it a little, not two squares. And I add a vote for less cars and ramp-less option.
I'd like to recommend to have the map remade on gridmap to help out with fps, as 6 cars is right at my computer limit and it doesn't run as well as I would like. - Thanks, P-P-Potato
Well I made it to smallgrid instead of gridmap, but lost textures, anyway result is pretty fine. More fps with same ammount of oponents, way less sticky, a bit more competitive. If only you could tweak AI to not brake that much on corners and made like 5 metres more space between spawn points. @Edit I may add later more variety in cars, by giving AI stripped race versions of 89' Pessima, Sunburst, I- series, Covet, with rally suspension, from fastest to slowest position so they would colide mostly at intersection.
