Its very easy to go in the zip, and play the sounds. They still have a copy of my sound mod, and Telemax's, meaning comparing the files would take under 5 minutes. And if you think of it, they are looking for 1 copyrighted sound, as no matter what if they have ONE copyrighted sound for the other packs that were removed, then they can't get approved.
Wait we don't have a copy of your sound pack. Btw we approved your sound pack also in the first instance and had to remove it afterwards because someone told us that there is copyrighted stuff in it.
? Wait, I thought mine was removed because like Telemax, it included sounds for NFS, and this why it was removed. And the link still works for my sound pack meaning you guys still have the mod.
Well it's not that I got mad that this guy stealing my content, I was mad due to it even happening in the first place. I thought since 3 sounds mods were removed due to copyright, then they would check so this doesn't happen. I was trying to bring awareness to this, but I guess I didn't explain myself well enough.
The first time the mods were removed, it was copyright due to the sounds coming from the NFS games. This time I had to tell them, even though they should do a check to make sure no sound packs take sounds from the sound packs that were removed because of copyright. This situation of me contacting them should have never happened. That's my point of bringing this up
Nope, my sound mod was removed not because someone said I stole sounds, but it was removed due to copyright with NFS. I never "stole" any sounds.
Contrary to some rumours, we are also humans. Mistakes happens. After we noticed some reviews reporting that fact on that mod you are talking about, the guys at the repo took it down and investigated in depth on the thing. What other people said. The guys at the repo have to check several mods daily, plus helping modders with issues and much more. In this case, working smart is the way to go. Cross-checking a mod with other previous mod is not exactly 'smart-working' as it's extremely time consuming, and the chance of that happening are not that high to justify that. You didn't (and can't) make a copy-right complaint. Copyright complains are for those who really owns the files (In this case EA). They could literally sue you for using their content without owning the copyright. Your pack was removed because it was noticed it contained EA copyrighted content, and we cannot approve that stuff on the repository (The repository is actively moderated, is like BeamNG itself is placing copyrighted content to download). We do what's needed to not make the company and the users run into legal problems. That mod that went through the checks, that one you are basically blaming the guys is just an exception. This things are very rare compared to what they have the check daily. Sometimes it's obvious when they see a blatantly copy of another mod, sometimes this stuff is just hidden or not visible on first approach. As I said in the very first part of this post, we are also humans, and some things can slip from our view. As soon we have notified about that, the mod was immediately took down and the uploader noticed. tl;dr We are not robots. The mod you are blaming us was a simple 'miss' because the files you are blaming were only a part of the mod. For time/efficiency reasons, we cannot go through all the files of a mod, so we do a general 'check' before approving. The mod has been taken down as soon we have been notified about that and the uploader notified aswell. Copyrights are a very serious question. We do what's needed to keep our company, and the uploader, away from legal issues related to this. The guys at the repo also have other tasks apart 'checking' mods all day, such as 'mod support', 'QA work', helping other users. And they do it greatly. Copyright infringement is stealing technically. You cannot make a copyright complaint over content you do not own. You got overly salty of a simple human mistake that has been solved hours ago. All the best. /thread.
This is the current sound pack video that i made, the old sound packs were much better not to say that the new sound mod is bad its just that it is not close to how the old sound packs were. Watch the video and see how everything sounds VS what you remember the old sounds to be like.
I didn't make a copyright complain, I made a complain that the person's mod was a direct copy of mine. I filed a complain as he shouldn't have his up since like mine, it contains copyrighted content for NFS. I guess this is the end of this thread, I wanted to say what I experienced on this site, but it turned it something way out of hand. --- Post updated --- It was another guy. Ash didn't use any sounds from previous copyrighted sound packs
I was making an example. Copyright is for who owns the content (EA in this case) Again, why all this fuzz? Feels like we are repeating stuff over and over. Your mod was taken down because it contained copyrighted sounds. Copyrights stuff is an absolute NO-NO on the repository. A mod that contained the same sounds made it through by mistake. It was taken down shortly after we have noticed. Of course, because you put that out in the worst way to discuss it. Immediately tagging the whole thing as 'broken' because of this single case may just have been an over-exaggeration, don't you think? We are always open to suggestions and improvements. Making people mad and etc. is not really what we aim for, so friends like before maybe? If you can't 'sorry' us for this involuntary accident, then I don't know what.. (Aye, sorry for the multiple edits, wording out the best I can)
Not all people are good-minded sadly. Seeing that being abused is not a far reality. There is a report button down every post in this forum, use that if you want to report something, and we will check.. As I wrote in my previous, if you are reading my posts even, hating is the last thing we want. What caused this reaction from the other members is the way you put the whole thing. If you had a different approach to it maybe. Regarding the topic of the thread itself, you read my post? Are we good now?
"Copyrights stuff is an absolute no no on the repository" Please tell me Why are the CR-X, Prelude and caddy still up?
