I have played this game at my friends house (I'm the one who told him to get it) and its a game I've been waiting for years, and finally a smart group of people decided to make it. The physics engine is amazing so realistic but the only problem is that cars don't feel like metal, they feel like plastic or paper, in games like forza 4 or nfs ( not that they are anywhere near realism) when I hit an object i feel like my car is strong and sturdy. Now I think the reason for that might be the sound effects or that I'm just used to my car just crumbling in front of me. What are your opinions please comment down bellow>
Real cars are pretty flimsy as well, the difference is you don't have a birds eye view of cars going off cliffs at 60 km/h.
Games you might have played do not simulate the damage that you may really receive, they are meant for casual gamers mostly. The fun factor would be minimal for casual gamer if car crash would be the end of the race and that does not sell. Cars ARE made of "paper" per se: So as you see here, BeamNG is the perfect simulation of damage.
When a metal is under high forces, its behavior is like a paper structure in your hands. It's true that the sounds are not enough good, yet. So the sense of immersion could result worst than in other games that, without a good physics motor, their creators spends resources in achieve impresive colision sounds and visual effects. take a look to this crash at 120 mph (192 km/h) and it's a '00 car in a 100% contact with the undeformable object PD: Sorry about my possible gramatical and vocabulary mistakes.
