In that case it may be that you don't have a lot of experience with the real thing. The hoods on modern cars are strong and the hoods on old cars were really strong (and had a lot of mass). The hood is not just a sheet of metal. I recommend that you try sitting or standing on a hood if you haven't done that before!

You've seen to missed the proportion, basically the thinkness difference between a nail and a sheet of aluminum foil (even three to help you a bit) is equal to the difference between the A pillar and the hood. Go and try to bennd a nail by crushing aluminum foil towards it.

Is this the really strong hood you're talking about?

(I really wonder why he didn't try to hit any pillar xd).

    Or this one?

The pillar just cutted the hood:

But anyway, if you have any proof, don't doubt to show it. :)

Meh... I have personally stood nearby and watched A-pillars cut IRL... while I haven't watched hoods and A-pillars strike each other like in the blue-semi-truck video you posted, I've banged on both items myself personally and seen their cross sections. I think that you may be overthinking this. From what I've seen we're potentially talking about similar thicknesses of sheetmetal depending very much on the year of the vehicle and the safety standards it had to comply with!

Here's a quick, simple comparison. Take a look at this '96 Civic's sill vs a '06 Accord's sill in the next picture (to the right): http://gallery.totalcarmagazine.com...g_the_wreck_underneath_the_as-new_exterior/27

If you take a look at the article those pictures are from, you'll noticed that it actually has crash test video of a '96 Civic as well as an '03 Jaz.

At the end of the day I'm not saying that the cars in-game are behaving either the way that they are intended to or the way that they should. They could be achieving one, both, or neither! All I'm saying is not to underestimate the strength of a hood and not to overestimate how strong cars like the Covet were overall (or how well they were engineered from a passenger safety POV!). As you can see from the picture of the '96 Civic - there was was a period of time in real life where cars were literally made out of single layers of thin sheet metal! (this is no longer the case for USA/Euro/etc cars - they now have thick and strong reinforcements)

I just realized that... all of my installed unofficial vehicles are wrongly marked as official content.

They all have the BeamNG watermark over their default image in the vehicle selector and they're labeled as "Official" in the description...

They're all stored in the content\vehicles subfolder of the game, so maybe this is what's causing it?

Yes, it indeed is causing that. Move them to the mods folder in Mydocuments/BeamNG.drive.

Yup, seems to resolve it. Had no lag since.

Edit: I'm now beginning to experience some lag, ugh. I'll update later.

It still seems better overall, though. Until I start heavily navigating trough the menu, it doesn't seem to lag.

I guess it's point of melting implemented in to engines, after some of us (incl. myself) reached temperatures of engines' blocks way over their melting point, in my case it was around 2000*C, so if in some case, you would be able to reproduce this, this feature simply makes it impossible because if you reach this point engine will automatically fail. It's preventing from some unrealistic situations. But now thermals are really fine tuned and it just don't happen to overheat engine block to this ridiculous temps, before completely destroying engine. But this also can be implemented in to upcoming brakes and tires thermals too.

Hirochi SBR 4 fog lights (Alt + N) still work even after the bumper is knocked off, or at least on the variant used in the 'Highspeed Highway' scenario.

Not sure if it's a bug or not, but the 'Bank Robbery' scenario damage system to your own vehicle is inconsistent.
Here are a few quick screenshots of where the ai chose to turn left into me coming off the bridge ('Deformation' debug is active)
The only thing that broke off my vehicle was the right side mirror. I was still able to drive straight too, the suspension didn't feel like it was touched.
This may show that the system is working, but it's a bit more than that.

Other times, I manage to bash the whole front end in and still not receive the message. I also once was going through the opening corners and knocked my right side mirror off on a utility pole, and it told me that I crashed my car.

    Doesn't feel right.

Not only this, but you can beat the scenario without the suspect fleeing. :p

That has only happened to me in older versions, not the latest one yet.
