Something in the forest brush breaks the map. It runs normal if I remove the forest brush from play (deleting it). It no longer crashes. I can drive around all I want now, instead of it crashing everytime I drive 300~400 feet forward from the starting point.
"Cannot re-declare forest brush" (this IS a fatal game-closing error). This is what the game is telling me. This means you must have an empty one, and a non-empty one.
I will take another look @ this but I am pretty sure you have two forest brushes, and when you get close to the other one (that you may have created 1st) it crashes out. Try deleting hillside2.forest. It seems to have less in it. You may have been using forest and suffered a crash while creating the map, this can cause issues if that happens. If that happens you need to remove your .forest files out of your hillside directory (where the art folder is sitting next to it) and start again.

Thanks. At least you didn't give me 1 star. I'll try when I've got the time

I make maps, so sometimes I try to help others ~ just like others were there to help me. Your map crash can be fixed by deleting hillside2.forest out of the main directory. Your map still runs and plays the same. It's not even referenced in the .mis file, but hillside.forest IS (this is your forest you see). Evidently you placed 30~50 trees and the game crashed, or something to that effect.

A MAP MAY ONLY HAVE ONE .FOREST FILE. I FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY. Please do not ever forget this ~ as you may never see it typed anywhere again :)

Your map is nice for someone recently starting out mapping. Here's a few suggestions to help increase those star-ratings:
*I think there is a way to put decals on your bridges to give them road texture. Have a look-see in the decal tool.
*You can smooth your roads out by using the wire-frame viewmode in the view layers panel (it's a pop-up window in the editor) and the node (vertex or NODE)-grabber tool with a size of ONE and a pressure of like 10~30%***. You can also smooth them by using the new smoothing tool. This is pretty easy, but move your roads away from the edge of the drop-off if that's easier. Make sure they don't bank too hard the wrong way in corners or everyone's going to moan. I know from experience. Always make it 2x-4x smoother than YOU feel is necessary.
*Make sure that if plants grow in your road and shouldn't be there, that you've got asphalt terrain texture under there. A bush-in-the-road (or grass) is the bane of many mappers including myself. They always pop up from time to time to remind you that you aren't perfect - it happens to everyone.
*Put a few jumps in, or other activities to keep players occupied on smaller maps especially this is quite important & will help boost fun AND your ratings.
*Always have a friend or a few friends handy to play-test the map for you before posting it on for everyone to crash with (another lesson we ALL learn), this way you can save yourself (and others) the grief, agony, and bemoaning that becomes of a broken map.
*Feel free to use my road textures if you make a highway map. They're in my map(s) directories under /art/roads. Take all you need.
*The more you make, the more effort you put in, the more rewarding the whole process is when it's done.

***You may have to hide your WATER_PLANE in the F1 object view panel (it's a checkbox, scroll down in it's properties) temporarily before you work with vertex manipulation tool in the F2 terrain editor tools, otherwise it's hard/impossible to see what you're doing. Don't forget to reverse the steps to unhide it later before closing down the editor for the night.
    --Good luck and happy Beaming!

If there is anything I could possibly help with, I am more than happy to as this map looks quite promising.

Actually, I'm reworking all the forest props (Trees, rocks, garbage) and adding new things to the map. Update soon
