You were the one who brought it up, and I thought they were compact cars not fullsize sedans.
what do you even mean by that?

second edit: its not my fault I never do anything or leave my house how am I meant to know much.

you can tow with a FWD and put a desk in a Camry. Easily had space for groceries too.
    I fit a weeks groceries for 7 into a corsa c. It's not hard.

There's a difference between bringing up a point to argue and comparing it to something irrelevant. You went off on a tangent and did the latter to "support" your point of view. Which still does not make any sense whatsoever in the given context. At least you can acknowledge you know nothing about Camrys.

For example you mentioned this irrelevant detail:
"and if you bought anything big like a desk or something then you would need to either use a trailer(and I doubt it would be good for towing because most or all are front wheel drive)"

Why did you bring this up? How does that make a donk any more capable than a camry? But if you insist... I could take a camry and donk it out. And it wouldn't even be able to pull the trailer. Most likely the tyres will spin endlessly (due to lack of tyre flex from thin sidewalls and profile and extremely high ride height) or not move or very slowly. The stock camry would pull better and with less effort.

Do you see how irrelevant that point was? Even if you were arguing the OP's car....corvettes have virtually no space for groceries. Camrys win in that department too.

" most other kinds show cars(from what I've seen at least) tend to have ground clearance problems which could cause damage to the sideskirts or bumpers as they are normally lowered and are normally low cars to begin with, donk cars obviously dont have trouble with ground clearance and because they are just for show the change in handle and long term effects of them being raised doesn't matter. And how is a camry practical? "

Right. Just to clear the air here, I'll attempt to explain the whys for you(why donks aren't a good investment):

Camrys are in no way cramped. They are full-size vehicles and are built to last. They are simple and reliable people movers. Practical transportation designed for the masses.

Donks are modified cars, built for one purpose, to show-off. They are not built to last. They are not practical:

They will not fit in your garage and they will not be able to endure a dirt road like any other car. The center of gravity is simply too high combined with the rolling mass of the wheels. They'll simply slip and slide about with very little control. Meaning you'll have to avoid all dirt roads.

These donk cars cannot fit in a parking garage. You have to park it outside. They also cost a load of money more to maintain and are the worst car to run over a speed bump. Not to mention the strain on the engine having to push huge, heavy wheels at 60mph. Very bad long-term for the engine, drivetrain and suspension. The wear is significantly higher than an unmodified car. You'll have to avoid most highways if you want your donkmobile to last.

And one last thing. If you take a turn too fast and cream a curb with your wheel you can break the suspension from the sheer forces generated. They also can't turn to save their lives. Huge understeer. Why else do donk drivers drive so slowly? They know how easy it is for something to break and have to drive cautiously.
I can't tell you how many videos I've seen of a wheel coming right off or an axle snapping from an attempted burnout.

Donk= slow flashy crap with horrible reliability. Better look forward to emptying your wallet on mechanical failures if you own one.

Never really said donks were practical in terms of driving or anything, just practical as a show car most of the time it wouldn't even matter if the engine and drivetrain even work at all and I'm aware that they are fragile, the argument of high maintenance costs makes about as much since as deciding not to get a hypercar because of gas mileage, if you could afford to have it modified to that extent you could probably handle the maintenance costs especially if its just sitting in a garage(which they would be) and someone doesn't have a very high garage then they just should make sure they dont have it raised to the point that it doesn't fit. donk cars are more like statues than normal cars IMO. I never said that donk cars are anymore practical for normal applications, just that a comry isn't a good example of a practical car, I also highly doubt that they aren't cramped(although I admitadly had to check wikipedia to see what a camry even was and I just assumed they hadn't changed much from the older models that I saw) very few cars dont feel cramped,
    --- Post updated ---
I never said it was impossible to tow with FWD, just that it probably doesn't work as well.

Donks are not practical and waste allot of money. Agreed. Finally.

Right so how does donkifying a car make it less cramped? It doesn't. The cockpit size doesn't change. You can doubt all you want about the camry being "not very practical" but unless you list the exact model and year of said camry you have no argument. All camrys to my knowledge are the definition of "practical".

"very few cars dont feel cramped" I wonder if you're 7ft tall or just lived in hatchbacks all your life? Because there is no other explanation for this BS statement. It makes no sense. Majority of cars have plenty of space. And cars are only getting bigger in space every year a new model comes out.

You need to elaborate on the whys, whats and cite specific cars you have driven and thought they were "cramped" in comparison to a donk. Be sure to list which cars are more practical for the average commuter. I'm interested to see what you have to say but I'm just not seeing the sense in your comments. There's not enough information to make your comments believable.

the cockpit in a donk car doesn't really matter because as I stated before they aren't meant to be driven, the discussion about the practicallity of donk cars and camrys are pretty two separate things. and non-japanese cars haven't been getting bigger at all except maybe in height, but its widthwise that cars feel cramped, and as for cars that would be more practical, most fullsized van or pickup trucks seem like a better option for most people IMO.

you can tow fine with FWD it depends on the car and the weight/torque the transmissions are not setup for it which is why most fwd cars have a tow limit of 1,000lbs or less.. unless you have a tranny cooler your fine.. traction isn't a problem with fwd since most of the weight is on the front tires.. tire choice is crucial.. i have towed a 1,300lb trailer that held a nissan parts car for my 2000 Altima.. so the weight i was pulling was roughly 3500lbs give or take.. i did not smash the gas pedal i used low gear and turned overdrive off not to grenade the tranny. but i normally pulled scrap daily with my trailer with my nissan has160hp/160trq work fine. my tires were 205/60/16 and it is an automatic i rebuilt myself with a slightly better torque converter but a stock one would have been ok as well.... and i did use a small motorcycle radiator as a tranny cooler with a fan for it as well that i had wired to a switch.. larger all aluminum radiator was used as well since i used the a/c every day while hauling...MPG was very poor lol but the car did not die...oh and always use stronger rear adjustable shocks for towing with and fwd..they will collapse

I think I know what he is trying to get at. When you accelerate, weight goes to the back(In any car configuration, weight shifts to the back giving rear tyres more grip). In a FWD car this translates to less weight on the drive wheels when you accelerate but more when you brake(when the weight shifts to the front). Whereas RWD has more weight on the drive wheels when you accelerate. RWDs are generally better for towing but he didn't word it like this, he left it open to interpretation. His comments were very vague on details.

What's funny about FWDs, in theory you could out-tow a RWD car, if you hooked the trailer to the front and put the car in reverse ;)

drive layout is changing though for towing... i used a new fullsize dodge ram van 1500.. its fwd version and it tows very well... and plenty of power in the 3.6 V6 and 6spd semi-auto... fun fwd van but ugly as hell

Towed entire cars in a FWD, on a loose dirt surface no less, had no issue.
But then this is genuinely from a guy that once claimed it was impossible to do day to day things in anything but a big SUV because anything else is too small. Dude, you can get a family of 4 in a 2 door hatchback with their luggage.

And I do love the double standards moderating. That 5:46am edit by moderation yet no warning point issued, I post less, entire set of posts deleted and I get warnings.

i think there is noting wrong with lowering cars, but to call them rice is just mean
if someone wants to lower their car, and put alloys on it and then someone from the other side of the world calling it rice, thats like me going to their country and saying their customised cars are "rice"

    OT
    yeah dank cars are disgusting

Big wheels are good if they have big tires but not on a car.

Most weight i towed with my Car was 3,600lbs.. manual says 1,000lbs lol.... better rear shocks and trailer brakes.. no big deal... the weight i pulled was a parted out 91 2dr ford explorer ... yea i pulled a truck with a fwd car...it was no big deal i was not racing and i was doing rough 25mph on small roads using mostly 1st gear for hills and 2nd gear on flat roads... don't do this in drive with overdrive on...big mistake on older cars with extreme high miles. i stayed just shy bellow my torque range 3400-3800rpms.. 1-2 gears only no drive... 3rd will engage overdrive and you will bog out and just ruin the converter...this may not happen at all on new cars... just a tip on 16-25 year old fwd cars

Yes but you're a backwards american. Come to england, we dont do automatics ;) No torque converter to overheat. I just used a ford focus to tow a VW Polo. Wasnt an issue. Literally, absolutely no issues. On light dirt and gravel that normally like to act as wheelspin city.

I'm perfectly okay with stance, donks, bosozoku, all of that. You're modifying it for the shock value, and I like it!

When you design a car and when it looks like it came off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down right off the assembly line, then you have a problem.

That beamer is pretty damn good, not to low, no extreme camber if any, its clean. And as for donks, they're as common as ricers
