It looks like it'll have an actual plot, something I enjoy in games. Rather than "looking" for a niece that you really don't know.

Sounds like there could be an interesting story behind that.

"I had the microfilm. All I had to do was get out. Shouldn't have been too hard - my disguise was perfect. In the darkness, no one should have been able to tell I wasn't a real dock worker. Somehow, though, they did - and they wasted no time broadcasting that fact, putting up a terrific racket that would have every goon in the place breathing down my neck. I had no choice. I had to run for it, and swim for it. And though I survived the encounter a scratch, emerging on another pier 100 yards away, I found quickly that I had dropped the microfilm somewhere along the way. What I didn't know was whether I'd been on land when it happened. If I had, then not only would my infiltration have been a complete wash, they would have known why I was there - and been able to adjust their plan accordingly."

This is what happens when the gearbox on an old narrowguage diesel shunter locomotive suddenly jams, jerking the crankshaft suddenly.

Gearbox failed while on a passenger train, showering sparks everywhere (open engine bay), then a giant clunk, then the engine stopped. Ruined the Engine block as well, so that will also need replacing.

nothing exciting, it was even in a pool. Used to do swimming lessons, one week we were to see if we could do 100m clothed, that was just trousers and t shirt. Piece of piss that was. We were gonna go again, were asked if we wanted to try more, sure enough I went and got my boots and a hoody. Did it

I made a simple little calculator in C#. The code is about as badly optimized as Torque3D, but it works perfectly fine.

While I may not be the biggest fan of Microsoft, they do make some of the sexiest hardware.

The thumbsticks are also made by alps which is pretty neat.

Personally I have found the thumb sticks to be pretty ok, very accurate and reliable. The reason I needed to take the controller apart is because the rubber on the thumbstick cover had split while crammed into a rucksack.

    On a completely unrelated note

I have 4 360 pads, sticks are only beaten in suckyness by the GameCube in my opinion. Playstation ones are much better with more reliable centering than the Xbox which requires a large deadzone

The problem the playstation 3 controllers is that they would break very easily. My cousin switched to 3rd party controllers entirely because the ps3 analogue sticks would stop centring after a while and become completely loose. Personally I also prefer the stiffness and shape of the 360 sticks more too (as well as the layout), but that is just personal preference.

I only have two though the bundled elite one and a second white one which I got at the same time. Maybe a couple months after launch so both are pretty early.

Microsoft makes some damn good controllers. My X360 controller for PC has been going since 2005, and even though the centering is nearly non-existent on the sticks and the D-Pad is sticky it still works just fine.

My friend, on the other hand, goes through a controller every 2 or 3 months since he uses aftermarket controllers.

Let me tell ya though, A 360 controller beats a keyboard to death in racing games. As long as I get more than just 100% or 0% I'm happy.

I had a friend who had a swimming pool, and his parents had gone on holiday. It was a hot year and they'd left a heavy tarp on top to protect the water. So, thrilled by being bad boys we uncovered a small portion of the pool at both ends. We had a game, to swim from the deep end under the cover to the shallow end on one breath. We all made it and I proposed we try it the other way. I went first, and dived into the shallow end. I hit my head on the bottom of the pool, in a moment of pain i'd cried out and not realizing where I was Id' inhaled. Which caused me to try and cry out again, and panic. I couldn't breathe and what I was breathing in hurt and scared me, and when I tried to swim upwards I was met with a plastic barrier that I couldn't fight, and it pushed me away from the surface when I did.

I remember I had to get away from the centre, I was scared and I wasn't able to bring myself to swim coherently. What I rationally knew I should do was being held back by a strong impulse to doggy paddle and claw at the plastic. I recall the funny experience of my vision starting to fade out, and feeling sorry about my family. I next remember being on my side with water coming out of my mouth after presumably my friends had rescued me. Drowning is easy, it's the easiest thing I've ever done but it's scarier than it is painful. Be careful.

I am a Lifeguard, so if someone is drowning, I am on the other side of that, which also sucks, not as much as almost drowning, but it still sucks, and it is still scary.

So it's not like Torque3D, then.
