Please help me out! I tried all of your troubleshooting tips for washed out colors and nothing helps me! Also now that I've installed this it randomly changes the resolution to some weird resolution that isn't 1080p. I have read all of the ten pages of comments on here and followed the directions but it is still over saturated or "washed out". I made sure gamma is at 1.0, and I changed the sweetFX file to what you said to in the troubleshooting. Please help because the mod is beautiful and I really want to get it to work!
Hi. Reinstall ReShade making sure you delete all the files you put in the game's folder and following the install steps again. Then save the mods you want to keep and delete the BeamNG.drive folder in your Documents folder. Then launch the game. Hope this helps
I downloaded the mod, but how do I get the texture mods? Do those come in the folder already? [Edit] I only have these two things, do I need anything else?
The VEP is not a mod itself. It consists of the ReShade preset on one hand (which is NOT A NORMAL MOD so you have to install it by following the post instructions) and the texture mods on the other hand (which ARE MODS and you have to download and put into the mods folder independently).
Yeah, I understand that it's not really a mod but it does modify the game so... And where do I get the textures? I can't find them anywhere. (If they're right in front of my face, don't be angry)
In the "Texture Mods" section of the post you will see a "Download them now!" link, which will take you to all the texture mods to download. Alternatively, I have them all in my signature. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ↓ ---------------------------- ↓ -------------------------------- ↓ -------------------------------↓-------------------------------------↓
Yeah, sorry. I didn't understand that. I just woke up so I shouldn't be on the internet talking to people...
It's great! I turned down the coloration because it was a bit too vibrant but still, it's a great mod!
It is simply amazing but I have some concerns. - Some lighting reflects of in bright squares/rectangles. And It happens when I turn on my bright lights. - It helps if I turn off "HDR" but. . . . . . it makes my lights more unattractive. Both problems occur in official and unofficial maps. On the more positive note your project does make this game more visually interesting. You have contributed a lot to this game and you are making a huge difference if you realize it or not. Sincerely, _driver7_ (Steam) _Driver7_ (BeamNG.drive Forums) FLUFFYzeMONKEY (Minecraft) =D
Thank you very much for your feedback! I have been doing some tests and, unfortunately, I do not experience the "bright squares/rectangles" problem so I can not relate it to my project. Anyway, if I had to guess, this must be related to the shader cache, so I suggest deleting all the "cache" folders located inside your "Documents/BeamNG.drive" folder. If this doesn't solve the problem, please contact the staff. About the "unnatractive lights" problem, this is something I have always experienced in this game, even before I started this project. So again, I am afraid that I can not relate it to it either. I do not understand why you have related these issues with my project, but nevertheless, I am very happy to know that you like my work If you want to further discuss this matter, please contact me on PM and I will gladly help you.
Alright, you're just going to have to trust me. The problem is your Std Dev for the bloom is too low. Or, more practically, your whole HDR/bloom setup is messed up. Here's the fix: Open the editor with F11, and go to Edit, then PostEffect Manager (the GUI button in settings for this is broken in the current version) And then once this box opens up, go to HDR, then bloom and change the values to something like what I have. If you're using his preset, you'll need lower Blur multiplier than what I have, but the most important thing is to set Std Dev to the maximum it goes to. That should fix it.
I don't know why anyone would want to mess with it, but it's a value in the bloom settings that makes all bloom progressively more offset and square-ish the lower it's set. It's the reason _Driver7_ is having the square lighting glitch that goes away when HDR is disabled. You don't need to worry about it. For everyone it should be set to maximum (0.1).
Ahh I see Oh, @_Driver7_ I have accidentally found the fix for those "unnatractive lights": Disabling dynamic reflections fixes it, but this fix has an obvious disadvantage. I suggest @Nadeox1 to disable the car logo and lights as reflective surfaces (see pic) to avoid such a radical fix. An alternative fix is enabling bloom and messing with its values so the "unnatractive lights" almost disappear, with the disadvantage of very bright light textures.
What you're describing has been an issue since release. Things with cubemaps (windows, shiny logos, headlight plastic) get rendered on top of flares and water, which leads to ugly situations like the headlight's reflection showing overtop the light flare. Developers, please. Please fix this. It's been bugging me for 3 years. Please.
