overkill, until recently, gaming couldnt even max out 8. Having more than you need doesnt make things any faster either. Theres other reasons to go above 8 though.

thats more than enough for beam. If you dont have enough ram for a program, it slows, if you have more than enough its no different from having exactly enough. If beam is slow, look towards CPU or GPU
