Warning : Require patience Features 4 scenarios : - A small maze - A big maze - Maths maze ( every intersection got equations that return the distance to the exit, you'll have to calculate them to take the shortest path ! ) - Tiny Maze ( shorter, and a different geometry ) At each relaunch of a scenario, the spawn point will be different. So now you can drive through these maze again and again and have a different experience ! Also if finding the exit is too easy, there's one easter-egg per maze. Let the hunt begin ! Here's a map for the big maze, but each scenario launch will have a different spawn point, good luck to find where it is ! View attachment 132011 There is gonna be 1 last maze to do before I start messing around with Lua to create procedural mazes I'd love to have as much feedback as possible, it will help me to improve my content and my motivation ( these mazes takes a lot of time to create ) Credits : - As usual, the BeamNG's dev team for their awesome game and mod support - @Scepheo for his help on the lua script - @mumboking for his advice on anisotropic filtering - The software Daedalus, helped me quite a lot while creating the mazes
I made it first try on the small map! (No, seriously, I did) 2:20, That's probably a new record! All I have to do is do a pattern. EDIT: Can you make the map available to free roam?
I don't think it would be worth it, you could just disable competitive scenarios and have the same freedom as in free roam And also I though I would share my times (which are quite quick, I know the maps ) Small Maze (1:15.01) : I don't think there's much room for improvement, maybe a gain of a few seconds is possible by taking a better trajectory. Big Maze (8:18.59) : If you want to speedrun this map my time is easily beatable, I didn't took the shortest path, slowed down at intersections to look on the map where I was going and also I didn't followed perfect trajectories.
And here's a pretty big update : New maze, Lua script, textures improvement Changelog : - Added new maze : maths maze - Added Lua script that changes the respawn point at each run - Added normal maps to every material - Added anisotropic filtering to some textures - Resized the thumbnails - Removed custom pickup configuration showing up in the vehicle selection menu - Added Easter-eggs to the mazes : go search them !
You just found the easter-egg of big maze ! Now you'll just have to look for the easter-egg in small maze and the one in maths maze
It's time for a new update ! Tiny Maze Changelog : - Added Tiny Maze - Fixed Maths Maze using the wrong collision mesh - Small Lua code improvement
Can't seem to get it to show up in the map section even downloaded it manually and overwrote the one that was in the folder already, really want to try this.
There's a quick way to make them available in Freeroam. It requires to use the level editor, but don't take too much time to do. Here's how to do : - Load Small Grid - Open the level editor ( F11) ( if you're not in windowed mod, press Alt+Enter ) - Make sure you have the object editor selected (F1) - In the Scene Tree menu on the right of the screen, select the Library tab, then the Prefabs tab - If you're not in there yet, browse until you're in the directory "levels/smallgrid" - Click on any maze prefab you want to load - Move it until it's where you want it, and enjoy ! ( you might have 2 vehicles now but whatever you can delete the Player vehicle ) - If you don't want to redo this everytime, save the level I didn't started the map in the dark yet, I have another maze higher in my priority list. But good news, the maze in the dark might be generated procedurally at each scenario relaunch !
yeah it's working in senarios, just thought it'd be a map as well. for what i want to do i just turn the senario conditions off so i can swap cars to one of my drift builds.
The biggest problem due to the new 0.7 version is now fixed 0.7.0 compatibility update Changelog : - Fixed lua code to work with 0.7.0 . Didn't managed to fix the player's ability to drive while the scenario isn't started though
I keep getting an error message when I try to load the map and when it does load there's no maze... just an empty gridmap EDIT: Fixed it just deleted it and reinstalled it manually
