So I had a few questions in mind. The handling in BeamNG.drive is realistic to a point. I've noticed many bugs and a few occasions where it just doesn't seem realistic. Like for a example. People who drift in Saudi Arabia, use mid end rage cars. (Normal everyday cars.) They turn off traction control and ESP.And use their emergency brake. And they manage to do pretty sick drifting. But in BeamNG.drive, you can't even speak of doing that without your back sliding completely out and losing control. The only way you can manage to pull it off is with the modified V10 sunburst with TC and ESC on, and at high speeds. Drifting is very difficult in this game, and sometimes even impossible. Trust me, I'm doing it right in game. From a person who has thousands of hours on racing games and almost 250+ hours on BeamNG.drive. I don't think some parts of BeamNG are realistic. Well, just this part.

I can drift most official beamng vehicles. It's a lot easier with a wheel, but doable with keyboard.

If you have a wheel, make sure the input (under controls>bindings>vehicle>steering) is configured as "direct" not "automatic". I played beamng for a little over 120 hours with steering configured as "automatic" (died a little when I found out). It sure makes a difference.

What would you suggest for a cheap wheel?

I'm not very familiar with current/modern wheels but I'd suggest you search your local forums and second hand stores. I got my wheel for 15€ that way. But if you want a brand new I'm sorry I can't help you. Maybe some thrustmaster? My friend has one of those, he paid 100€ for it. Don't know the exact model.

This is really one of the very few games where you can do this crazy, stupid stuff with cars however you want to, with hyper-realistic physics and all :p Heck this is probably the only game you can go rock climbing in with physics like this.

Although it generally feels extremely easy to drive sometimes, whether it's a wheel or a keyboard. I dunno, I've never been good at RFactor or anything like that but for some reason I can get the Capri or the Bolide under control in this game. I really feel like there's some aspect to the handling that's being left out because I seriously doubt I'd ever be able to do the kind of stupid stuff that I'm able to do in this game with a real car.
