Sure, I just had that "damn I'd like to do a 4 door coupe now", sometimes I have these modeling attacks ;). A convertible will evolve out of the coupe, technically it's just removing most of the roof and clean the parts where something god cut.

You should lengthen the back a bit. Or maybe a bit more. :) As for the name, how about 859?

    Crossover Wagon? Like that?

That could be nice for the Fastback as well.
And as for the coupe version later on, you could make some major overall changes like that. *brain explodes due to too many ideas*

Definetly needs some work, it feels rather sedan than coupe right now. Should I lengthen the whole vehicle?
And for the name, I think something like 86x scalota, since 859 would stand for a 9-cylinder wagon ;). 86x is the normal coupe then.
A Crossover like the allroad would just include some fenderflares...and a higher suspension that should be adjustable:rolleyes:

Damn, you're right about that name. Didn't even know that. 86x would mean that it has two independent rear doors. Or maybe that cool thingy where you can open the glass and the tailgate independently. Also, I'd just give the Scalota (nice name!) the 866td, 866tx, 866 ttSport and 866 ttSport+ versions.
Have to wipe off the gore, can't see sh*t on my screen anymore.

I *think* the 8#X name is somewhat like this:
    8 - the car model
    # - the amount of doors
X - the amount of cylinders.

So the coupe and convertible would be called the 82X (maybe with coupe/convertible added to it).

Calling it 86X would be a bit weird as it would suggest it has 6 doors, like Arne already mentioned.

Edit: didn't notice the fastback style car in the other thread which this discussion was probably about. For a gran coupe/fastback style car, 84X or 85X (depending on whether the back window opens with the trunk) with something added to it would make most sense imho

Yeah, that's what it seems like. That independent thing would be really, really nice though.

Thats true. Wouldn't it be 83X since the tailgate is considered as a door? 82x would fit for the convertible then.

I thought something like this, since it's common on BMW wagons:

    This :p

It depends on what part opens. If it's just the trunk part after the rear window it's considered a 2 door (and a 4 door on a sedan) but if the rear window opens as well (like a hatchback) it's a 3 door (or 5 door for "sedan" or wagon) I believe.

    I could be wrong though.

(sorry for editing again, but thought this might clear things up)

Here the left one is a 5 door and the right one is a 4 door

Is there something like a coupe with a normal trunk? Just curious...

So I edited my previous post with a sedan example, so maybe that clears things up. But what do you consider a "normal trunk"? If it's like the left one on the pic in my previous post it'd officially be considered a hatchback I think, and with a trunk like on the right it'd be a coupe (or a sedan if it has 4 doors like in the example)

Yes, a trunk without the glass. But hachbacks normally have 3 doors, so a coupe with 2 doors and a trunk like a sedan would be a 2 door sedan with coupe shape? Since something like that dosen't exists I guess that there is no tearm for that;)

If the hatch opens like that on the left, it's called a liftback afaik.

The MK1 Polo Coupe is considered as a hatchback nowadays. Nowadays most coupes are pretty much like 2 door sedans.
