hi im offroadbacon and i want to ask if the creators could add in this feature again it was one of the best features in early beamng drive but ever since they took it away it has not been the same (yes someones asked for this but not many people took notice) im not trying to sound beggy but it it would be nice.
the new AI is a lot more complex, this is why it took us so much time. Someone is working on it right now, so lets see if it works out well
We never give out release dates. It's ready when we feel its working good enough, and that is most of the time not very deterministic. I'll be released when its done.
They should try to fix the collision problems as well, demolition derbies aren't really possible if we stick to everything we hit

What are the basics of the AI system? I mean what is the programming, is it like: look for path > follow path > if path not there stop > etc. If possible would you be able to post a screen shot of some of the actual AI code so I can get an idea of what such code looks like, very curious, thanks!
Look in the AI.lua in BeamNG.drive\lua\vehicle\ai.lua. If you understand Lua, you'll be able to understand how the AI works from that file. It's complicated, although well organised and somewhat documented within the file. And if you can write Lua, you can make the AI, and I think you can release it as a mod (I may be wrong about releasing it, though).
I get that we can do that, but it heavily damages vehicles sometimes and it kinda ruins the crash details, and i know we can teleport the vehicles too, but it's just not convenient as of right now though
So as there is the new AI out (Chase and Flee) how do you set a specific player as the target? So for example if you´d like to do a police chase, how do you set the "thief" as the target for the police car?
*Bangs head on couch* Flee isn't new. Also this procedure is very simple. Look in the Wiki. Also have advanced controls checked in the Options Gameplay in the game.
