PS4 and XBoxOne support?

Because in single thread, your PC is still probably more powerful than the consoles.

Seriously, they really have missed a trick in this generation.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One use essentially the same CPU just with minor alterations to the clock speeds both at full turbo and idle as they do support an intel style turbo boost. Both consoles full turbo still dont reach 2ghz... 2ghz on modern intel aint great. 2ghz on an AMD APU however, the APUs struggle at 3+ ghz with this game and a D series...

 

I am putting some thought into this, so an eighth Gen console would be what a computer from a few years ago, they may say its the most powerful thing out there....BUT....PCs are still faster...I was thinking about it, I know I am woefully off track here about it...

 

Pretty much true for every generation.


Only thing going for the consoles over an average PC, 8 cores.

 

Which is great if you have fully hyperthreaded games only.

GTA5 was last gen though. The era of not so multithreaded games (dont use the term hyperthreaded... thats an intel proprietary technology that has little direct link here) .

 

Makes ense either... Another reason not to mix up consoles and PC though. And - kinda sadly - their games as well. Will write that difference down btw.

 

That's an opinion and like I said, consoles and PC's are intended for different audiences or different occasions. They don't compete and were never intended to compete. In fact, the "console" came before the "PC". (Notice the quotes... I'm talking about gaming, not the literal thing.)

IMO Split screen is more common on PC, companies stopped really doing splitscreen after the ps3 when online kinda took over, why would they let two people play on the same console when they could make multiplayer online only and force you to beg your friends to get whatever game you would want to play with them or buy it for them... then a few years after release they shutdown the servers and you just have to hope there is a sequel that isn't completely terrible.

that's why I didn't get a next gen console and I went with a ps3 last gen.

The console players mostly play games where there is lots of things going on and I just can't seem to think that most triple-a game players would get their attention held by one single car on a tiny map driving through checkpoints because the console has minimum requirements for the game. To be honest simulators seem boring to the kind of people that spend all night playing copy-paste ops and shouting over Xbox-Live or PSN (and I can't say that's bad because I used to spend all day playing GTA V on my Xbox One )

Really the only action game I play is GTA V but me and most of my friends actually like nice and calm simulators or racers, like Mario Kart, BeamNG, and SpinTires. However I had to buy a Wii.

A GTX970 is a high-end card. A run-of-the-mill gaming PC would be a 950.
