Hi, I'd like to know how to import models from 3DS Max ? I searched on the wiki, and all I found is a small guide to use with Blender (http://wiki.beamng.com/Exporting_static_objects), but I don't like Blender and only use 3DS Max The tutorial is not clear at all, a video would really help understanding how it works.
Well, there is a COLLADA extension plugin for 3ds max, search on google. once you have installed it, simply go to file/export/collada(.Dae) to export your model.
There is not export template so I'm wondering how do you get it right ? I can export the model but the texture is missing
If you cant seem to get it to work, you can save your model as .3ds, open up Blender, and import your .3ds model and export that in .dae .
The template/wiki entry is only for hierarchy, which you can also get by importing any of the .dae files already in the game (I recommend doing this as you'll have the hierarchy in your program then).
ive been struggling a bit with max aswell you need to get the hierarchy right (schematic view in max) this has helped a bit... http://docs.garagegames.com/torque-...tist Guide/Tutorials/DestructibleObjects.html of course this is for destructable objects...so it will be a little different..but shows you how you need to setup the hierarchy all the info is here.. http://docs.garagegames.com/torque-3d/official/
