Opening doors gently

I really like the new node grabbing. I tried to use it for opening doors and the hood of cars, but the cars ended up looking like that:








So I thought that it would be nice to have special nodes (maybe in another color) to gently open up doors, so that you can close them again. Maybe they should also snap back in.

This isn't really all that useful but i thought it be nice to have, as long as it's not too hard to implement.

 

I know, I thought that using that special yellow node could make the latch thing automatically disconnect so that the door doesnt't get dented.

 

I agree, I thought just the same after some minutes of playing with node grabbing.

you can do it with the cargo doors of containers

 

Maybe magnetic nodes could work, or couplers for door latches instead of a latch

 

This is already possible. The back doors on the H-series open and the tailgate opens on the D-series

 

I think he means the side doors front and rear
