Hi there, I enjoyed BeamNG for a while now, and I thought its time to join the community and take a Little place in it. So, here?s my first attempt to do anything for BeamNG. (imported from here) (imported from here) Before you start to tell me whats wrong with the model: No, its not wrong, I dont want to make the real Hummer H1, I want it Gabester style. Something that Looks like a real Car, but not too Close to the real thing. Modeling took about 1 hour now. I think there will be different Versions (Flatbed (Pickup), Convertible etc. Maybe you can help me to find a cool Name for it, Suggestions are very welcome. -Johnny Edit1: Sorry, Google Chrome ate the blank lines... :-( Ill try to fix that in an other browser... Edit2: Internetexplorer knows what to do when hitting return...
Did you just pull that name straight from gta. I know there's a hummer thing named Patriot, but not sure if it's a Rambler Patriot. Heres my suggestion( I guess I really shouldn't criticise a name if I havent given one) Larus Rhino I'm not very good at making up names
1.Well now that I think about, I guess I did. At first I thought of Patriot because it sounds like a big American vehicle name. 2.I like your vehicle name. And oh before I forget, It's just Patriot in other GTA's. Not sure about GTA IV.
I like it, but just in case you don't already know this: the reason gabester doesn't make specific car makes and models is because he's a dev and since the cars are stock in the game he'd have to get licensing to model real cars which would be extremely expensive. People making add-on cars can make whatever they want though. (But, gabester did do the same thing for RoR.. Not sure why though..)
More freedom in creating your own cars, you can design it however you want, give it whatever engine, whatever name, and whatever "backstory" you want. He made plenty of real cars though. From the top of my head I can remember he's made the LS430, S10, Citroen GS, Space Wagon, Accord and 49 Ford.
that was when they weren't going to be part of a pay to play game though. OP, you might not want to actually model the grill and instead add it after using that thing gabester does. The part where he does the hood is what i'm talking about A-look-at-vehicle-workflow-Part-1 edit: I was wrong D:
Looks good so far! For a name, how about the "Titus Rampart" I always imagined making cars for this with the brand name Titus, but my modeling skills are still too weak to put anything forward.
In this case I'd model the grille because the holes are pretty big and there's stuff you can see behind them.
In that case I'd say Governator G1 As for the model: Looking at my Hummer H1 scale model, it looks pretty accurate to the real thing? Only thing it's missing is the big radiator thing on top of the hood. You seem to manage your poly flow fairly well, so good job on that
Liking it already, I'm a huge fan of the H1 Hummer, and if I were rich as hell and could afford 8MPG, would totally own one lol! You mentioned it's only based on the H1 to give it a 'gabester' feel, and I respect that perfectly fine, I only hope if nothing else you keep the wide wheelbase of the original Hummer. I'm not terribly creative when it comes to naming, so sadly no help there, especially without knowing what kind of naming theme you want for it, Brand/Vehicle split (Ford Ranger-Ex.) or just some unique badass name for a Hummer,.
